More than enough room to let his partner ride too!

I would not want to be sitting in traffic or riding slowly around town with the fan blaring and the heat blowing. Great bike but it would not be my choice for the job.

i think that would be a better choice than the hd cruisers they are riding now, im sure they are getting more heat off of the big electra glides or whatever model they are.

it would be 100% more agile in my opinion

"I would not want to be sitting in traffic or riding slowly around town with the fan blaring and the heat blowing."

Then I guess you don't want to be riding a motorcycle, meaning what motorcycle engine doesn't produce heat? : ?

You do know that liquid cooled motorcycles use those same noisy electric fans, yes?

More to the point, how/why is a fan that blows heated air out the back of the bike not better than a motorcycle that blows hot air onto/around the rider or one without a fan that allows all the hot air to rise straight up and around the rider?

Inquiring minds want to know. : )

Blake, I've had a lot of bikes. I adore the XB series ... as long as I'm moving along. In slow traffic or standing they are the hottest bikes I've had. My HP2 is by far the coolest. Other bikes fall in between. The XB fan is the loudest fan I've heard ... by far. Making an XB into a police bike is like making a race horse do a mule's job.

The real reason for this bike is that the FLHP is getting totally shot down by the BMW police bike in comparisons like the Michigan State Patrol's. HD desparately needs something that can compete with BMW. But the Uly police bike is still too high for a lot of riders, it needs an auxillairy battery, and the memory of worker's comp claims from burns from the FLHP's heat aren't going to win back many departments.

Why an aux battery? LED lighting negates the need for the second "lighting" battery that was required by the old strobes and their power supplies....unless I'm missing the purpose of the second battery.

Doesn't much matter when you strike a deal-tax breaks will give you a few back scratches. All the on duty around here ride and drive bimmers thanks to the new financial headquarters. Nice bikes IMO, would an XT be better suited, maybe, but the line gets muddled pretty quickly when money changes/or doesn't change hands...

I think that this bike will be "out" for many departments without ABS...that has been a key determining factor as of late.
