Well I pulled an utoh this morning put her on the stand walked away and boom!!!!! that kickstand problem that is overrated well its not second time first time I caught it. I broke a blinker cover, foot peg, bent the shifter, clutch lever broke scratched up my oil cooler and puck also the swing arm and broke a mirror. Anyone got an extra foot peg for an xb12ss everything was left side.
Lucky I have the old 77 KZ1000 or I couldn't have gotten wet today at all.

It's so nice to be able to salvage such a bad day by going out and getting soaked. It's refreshing to see someone who knows how to count their blessings.
Plus you helped me see how blessed I was when I didn't break anything when I dropped mine the other day. I just buggered up the scratches on the blinker!! Hope you get it straightened out without too much trouble.

Got her straightened out all except for outer blinker lens had to order only that.
I actually had some mirrors that I bought for a project I never got around to, and well I got around to it.
I do have a small delema I realized how much fun the old KZ or as Hammeroid likes to call it the KY is. I can not find it in me to sell it now. The old machines are what riding really is to me . Do not get me wrong no comparison the buell is my Zen but kickers and frame flex and a quickened heart beat when you hope to stop the the old girl cause the engines are really quite top notch the rest of the machines leaves alot to GOD's good grace and it just kinda gets me yaknow oh well sorry to rant but thats what we do here from time to time see ya on the road

When I get off my bike I make certain to pull backwards on the handle bars each time. Just a simple precaution that hasn't failed me yet.

I go through the added precaution of kicking the base of the stand forward too.

That's not the first time the KY saved the day. You can always count on it to get your ride in.
