i was bored today and looking through some old stuff. dont think i have ever posted this on here. its a video of the first fire up of one of the jet bikes that a friend and i built.

http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=622702384

the first 100% from scratch frame i ever built and it had to be for a jet engine we hadnt even gotten in our posession yet. i did it off of some measurements they sent us.

notice in this pic it got a tube swingarm. looks way better.

it rode, but lets just say it wasnt for the faint of heart!

lol, that is the little one! it is a jfs 100.

this one is a 450 alison

then this one. although we didnt build the y2k we have worked on it and painted it. and ofcourse flogged it!

then there is the vrod

then there is hydro. the hydraulically driven one we built. it has 32 patents on it. with the hydraulics it actually almost doubles the power the stock 88 inch puts to the wheel. it will also do highway speeds at idle if you want. and it does awesome reverse burnouts!

then we got bored and built an easy go. 14" of suspension travel. i fabbed a 4 link front suspension for it and it has a raptor rearend. it can be raised or lowered with 6 air shocks. it also has a gs1000 motor in it and a big hurst floor mounted shifter. it moves right along.

if you look through the screen below the seat you can see the header

Sweet bike

Question, how does the transmission work? I know the Y2K has a unique driveline setup (2 speed), I was curious what you used.

it actually has a right hand gear drive we rigged up that is run off of the shaft coming straight out the back of the turbine. single speed, zero to IM GONA DIE in one gear. then that runs the chain to the rear wheel.

the rear brake and alternator also run off of that shaft as you can see in one of the pics somewhat. the alternator obviously only charges when the motorcycle is moving since that shaft is turned by basically an air clutch in the motor. you can stop it from turning with your hand at idle even though idle is outragiously fast. you dont really need that much juice just to run head and tail lights.

you only need enough juice to crank it up and operate those lights. the motor is self sustaining once it is running. the optima battery we put in there will fire that thing up alot of times without ever being charged back up.
