I saw a bunch of Buells! I passed through Thursday late afternoon, Friday mid afternoon, and Sunday late morning. I saw a bunch of Buells! At least 10. I recognized and talked to one of the stone mountain guys (blue tanslucent XB-S, white helmet)... whose name I forget (because I forget everyone's name, don't take it personal, sorry!) Talked to a guy on a MINT cyclone. He said he drove up to PA from GA to pick it up. Sounded like he was really enjoying it! I introduced him to this website and MB, he said his buddies ride Buells, and haven't heard of it. There was a Uly tearing it up both Thursday and Friday. Saw a gorgeous X1 leaving in the back of a truck as I was leaving on Sunday. So SPEAK UP! Was it you??? I think I was pissing the other people off in my group cause I was freaking out at all the Buells. It's just not the same in a car. I have to admit though, I LOVE the sound of 4 11" wide ultra-sport tires sliding though corners, and the sweet smell of cooking brakes after each run. Took the girlfriend there for the first time. I took my Audi and she drove her Bug.  She earned her stickers:  | ||

I was up there on Friday the 2nd. Saw another Uly there as well. Great day to ride it, sunny and warm. Not a lot of traffic on the Dragon. Rode in on Hwy 28, another sweet stretch of highway. | ||

Reply's: I've been taking cars there longer than I've been taking motorcycles. I just stick by the golden rule... The yellow line is just as dangerous as the cliff on the other side of the road. Oh, and I took more than two cars! There were over 80 in my group! (Audi Club of North America event) Friday was beautiful, but there was a cop sitting in the middle of the thing when I was there. I know he worked a 2:00-6:00 shift on the Dragon. Don't know if there were cops there before him. Sunday was just as beautiful, and no cops when I went through around noon. And yes, I'm not allowed to spend any more money at all until Germany, but I had this cabin reserved before we even thought about the Germany trip. Well I was just going to sit back and see where this thread went... but I have to interject... So the drive down to the Dragon was a caravan of about 7 cars from Columbus. We all had FRS radios, but I also through a CB in my car to keep entertained, and to listen for cop locations. SHE happened to decide to where a very low cut shirt. Holy Hell, that was some of the funniest stuff I ever heard. I kept repeating what the truckers were saying about her on our FRS radios. They all started blasting their horns whenever she passed. Oh it was freaking classic. I kept telling her they just want to see your BOOBS! She wouldn't show 'em though.  | ||

Hey Mike5K: It was me out on the CityX, doing a run out in the "backyard" that is the Gap. Correction- I work at Smoky Mountain in Mur-vil, not Stone. All these damn HD mountains, you know.... Glad to see you out enjoying the springtime roads. Especially with a redhead hottie- cue the Del McCoury tunes!!!  |
