I woke up today fully expecting Spring to be here. Well NOT. Apparently we have close to 500 ice bergs floating off the coast which is why the temps are hovering between 0 to 10 degrees celsius. We broke a 47 year low temperature record in Columbus, Georgia earlier this week... 42 degrees in late April. The seasons are getting harsher around here it seems... colder in the winter and hotter in the summer. | ||

This global warming does suck We had 82 degrees here on Wed and 40 degrees cooler on Thursday with several inches of snow, today snow sprinkles and again only in the 40's BRING ON THE WARMTH!! | ||

I moved a 40' boat from Portsmouth, RI to Mount Desert Island, ME last week with an overnight stop in Portland, ME. It got down into the mid to high 30's at night and in the morning, as I was preparing to leave Portland, it was 43F at 5 AM. When I stepped out of the pilot house there was ice on the deck in the cockpit, and I nearly slipped and fell. There was even some frost on the teak swimming platform that is normally used for boarding. Kind of spooky. But it was a lovely day at sea, I ran close in to shore as I went north, the sight seeing was spectacular, and it was almost shirt sleeve weather by the time I got to Southwest Harbor. Jack | ||

We must adapt to the new nomenclature, "Global Warming" has been officially replaced with "Climate Change". Any change, up or down, is reason enought to deprive all of us of our tax dollars and SUVs. I am considering buying a Gulfstream IV as those don't seem to pollute. Please send me all the cash and carbon credits you can and I will trade in the horrible Ford F150 on the latest GIV, just like all the important people drive. Hopefully this will help somewhat to reduce the evil "Climate Change". I am always willing to be one of the first to sacrifice. It is the least I can do. | ||
