I just wanted to take the time to thank Buell Motorcycle Company for the creation of such a wonderful machine called the City-x. Since the purchase of this machine in April of 2006 I have been smiling every time I straddle this steed. It is all mine. I have wanted to write this for awhile. I am very happy to tell you that this has been an exceptionally reliable method for joy through exploration in my life. I will be traveling from NJ to explore the Grand Circle this summer. I will be documenting the trip and just wanted to let all of the employees at BMC to know how valued your hard work is to me. I have traveled to Lake Placid NY 2 times, West Virginia, Va, DE, PA, VT, NH, ME all on this naked beast and it sure does let me appreciate life. I know you guys get it. It is all about the ride. I have never owned another bike and assure you that I am sold on the Buell product. You have welcomed me into the Buell family. I have met Erik in Rahway for the Queensryche arrival and ended up escorting the guys in the band back to Atlantic City. I must tell you that I was very impressed with the accessibility of Erik. Also to Court who's ride report of the City-X sold me on the bike. You are also a class act my friend. Anyway, tanks so much everyone at Buell. Let everyone know on the production line that their hard work puts a smile on my face every time I start that 984 Thunderstorm engine. Tanks again.

Thanks for sharing that Chris. I've been meaning to post something toward this end as well.

My first experience with Buell was back in 2002. I was standing in the parking lot of my office at the time in Houston, TX and one of my clients rode up on an XB. I had never even thought about riding a motorcycle on the street before that moment, but I was immediately hooked. I asked him what it was (debadged), but unfortunately he had a thick British accent and I couldn't really understand what he was saying. I thought he was saying Bulla and assumed it was a foreign bike.

Anyway three years later I thought about that guy and sat down in front of the PC and decided to find this motorcycle I fell in love with at first sight. I came across Buell.com, and a few months later I had a 2005 XB12Scg in my garage.

Over the past three years since I first sat on her, it has become a part of who I am. My experiences with this bike have changed me as a person in too many ways to name, and now I cannot imagine life without my bike. If the house caught on fire as I type this, I'd leave everything just to go make sure the bike was safe. I ordinarily don't get attached to possessions, but I think my bike is more than that.

She and I (Joplin) have shared some of the best times of my life. I remember when I first got on her what it felt like to have that much power and freedom. The first time I took her out on the road, it felt like being a bird. I remember the smells I encountered, the cool breeze, the sound of the engine and the feel of vtwin power under me, and the admiring look of passers by.

Over the past three years, she's changed a lot right along with me.

Thanks Erik and Co. for making a machine that has had such a huge impact on me. In ways, it helped me find myself as a young graduate student. Now I'm about to graduate and get a real job. Will I use my new income to go out and get a Duc or a BMW or some other expensive machine? Maybe, but I will never sell this bike as long as I live because I have too many fond memories. It was just what I needed. Thank you so much for the ride...

It is nice to see people who are as passionate about their bikes as I am. It makes me wonder. If an XB had that effect on you guys, just imagine what a tube frame would do. I stopped looking at Buell as a manufacturer in 2002( last year of tubes). The XB's look too much like the Jap/Euro sportbikes. I would buy an Aprilla/Augusta/Ducati long before any current Buell offerings. The XB's are nice bikes, not implying otherwise, they just lack the rawness and style of the tube frames.

I have to admit, this bike has changed me also. I had an SV650 prior to my Scg. My hubby got a 12R (he's got the STT now) and I rode it a couple of times and got hooked. I then got my Buell, cherry bomb red, and am in love. All I can think of is riding. I've tried to talk Dan into selling our house and take the RV and trailer and just explore this country. He's not quite ready YET.

We've got a couple of trips already planned for this summer so hoping to put on lots of miles.

Yes, and thank you Erik
