I'm looking for a HVLP sprayer, mainly for woodworking but would like the option of applying automotive finishes to my motorcycle. Does anyone use a HVLP sprayer and any recommendations?

What kind of compressor set up do you have? If it puts out enough air you have a wide array of guns and spray rigs to choose from. You could also consider a pump type sprayer or a turbine.

I currently use a Fuji Turbine rig when I need it to be portable and DevilBiss gravity fed gun off my compressor at the shop. I get great results with both on wood, I have not sprayed any automotive finishes yet. Make sure you get the right sized tip for what your spraying.

Like anything else, the more you spend the better the equipment. Sata, Devilbiss, Binks, Kremlin, Fuji all make good equipment, it depends on what your willing to spend. You could get decent results with the guns you find at Lowes with the right spray technique and a good quality finish.

I use a DeVilbiss Finishline HVLP gravity gun. Lays down very nice paint and doesn't break the bank. Check out www.eastwoodco.com

I have two guns. I have a standard Devilbliss suction feed for high solids primer and a clone of a Sata gravity feed HVLP. I love the Sata clone, it's amazing and super easy to clean.
