I have some Converse boots. I think they come in black but mine are kahki. They zip up like the Altama or lace up.
These boots are the most comfortable boots the military has bought me. The feel like a Converse running shoe. I could run ten miles in these. I've done 5 in 'em. I don't think I could do more than 10 with PF Flyers!
For all your military style gear, try out Brigade Quartermaster. Alot of boots.

Zane, do they come in steel/composite toe? They look pretty comfortable. I just ordered a pair of Sidi's for riding, hope I like them.

Skinstains,

He specifically said he wanted them for office wear, therefore I think the grey "cleated" sole would look better than the gum-colored "wedge" sole. I have the cleated sole myself and it works just fine. The Combat Lite is probably one of the most comfortable boots I've ever owned, and (like most Aerostich products) it looks like it'll last a LONG time. See the links I posted earlier in this thread for more details.

The Aerostich Combat and Combat Lite boots are made exclusively for the Rider Wearhouse by SIDI so you have double assurances of a quality product.

I just ordered a pair from Zcustom leathers, you send them a tracing of your foot and 5 different measurements.

It is a semi-custom built boot, the only way to get a better fit is to send them a mold of both your feet. Which they will build you a pair from!

It all sounds good, I will let you know how good they are in about a month.

They have 3 different styles, ranging fron about 200 to 300 bucks.

And, they are resoleable.

Jaimec,
I understand what you are saying about the sole but I would still rock the wedges in an office. As for the Sidi side of things...I own seven pairs of Sidi's not counting the Combats. Great stuff.
