I can use my heel to up shift the Buell, but it aint pretty.

The heel/toe shifter is more common on bikes with floor boards. Or, those with the shift shaft close to or under the foot peg.

I suppose a heel/toe shift system could be made, but it would not be cheap...

You'd have to attach a rocker directly to the shift shaft or to the shift lever pivot.

I'd bet it could be done. The problem is that it works better with mid or forward controls.

an air shifter works both ways doesn't it. if it does, wouldn't it be safer than a heel shifter on a buell.
the first day i got my01 ultra, i dropped the bike because my heel got caught on the heel shifter. luckily it happened in my driveway.

heel/ toe shifters are for geezer glides and old school italian bikes. kinda like smoking is for europeans and white trash.

I had one on my XB12, it worked but it was too far forward. I ended up with two shifters.

Worked pretty well, actually.

Yeah, it's been on there for over four years. It wasn't hard to get used to, I've had a Glide for a long time.

I looked at air and electric shifters, decided that mechanical was better for me, maintenance free, and free!

That last one is cool.
You don't have to move around the shift peg, awesome.
