Pit bull slid forward. Bike fell on its butt. Swing arm wedged its self into the stand. Broke a few bits and added more scratches/gouges. Took a few hours to get it back up by myself.

Damn Barker!
At least you're back up and ready for Barber.
Think of me when you're enjoying that most awesome track.
I can't make it this time

That's the first Pit Bull I've seen broken.
Time for those DarkHorse Moto sliders, that have the slots for the stand!

It would be nice if Buell would put a couple of threaded holes for sliders....

The standard slider thru the axle is nice for a dirt dive, but it you are changing the tire they don't do you any good.

This is my thinking, and exactly why I woudln't get the through-axle stand sliders. But after seeing this, I really have no idea what to do...

If I'm at home I use the rear stand with the thru axle spools to lift the bike.
Then I use my cheapo motorcycle lift to get both end off the ground.

At the track its a different story....

Never had issues with the firebolt, The Uly is not even worth using a Pitbull stand on.

Barker, you need any parts?? I am sure I have a heel gaurd I can bring you.

The stand broke? After sliding forward? Details please.

I'm sure the people that DON'T own a Pit are going to eat this up.

I can see it now..."I never had that happen with my Trex, and it was cheaper"

I personally dont own a stand, I use my buddies. But when I do get one, it WILL be a Pit. I have heard nothing but good about them and their CS.

Sucks about the luck man. Except for the paint on the swingarm, it could have been worse. I have seen bikes take a fall from similar accidents. At least heel guards are cheap.

Hey Barker: I have a pair of CF heel guards- let me know if you want them. (Don't know what they're worth at this writing, but I'll sell em CHEEP enough.)

Easy ride up from Nashvegas for you, or next time I'm in Mt. Juliet, I'll holler atcha.

Good excuse to ride ET roads....

Pit bull did not break. I removed the hardware to get the thing off of my bike.

It did slide forward.

I'm gonna make 2 "hooks" to keep mine from sliding back.
Its a PITA to keep repositioning the bike... then it just slides back down again.....

I really enjoy my HANDY pneumatic shop lift. I know this comment won't help you now, but consider the benefits in the future.
You can also make a front tire chuck from plywood and 2x4's, or lash the front brake lever, or chuck front tire to a corner of a room.

When I made my stands I made the lift pieces from 2 1/2 inch channel and cut the inside channel down to about a 1/2 inch to kinda wedge in the narrow end of the swingarm. I coated the pieces with liquid rubber used to coat tool handles and whatnot. My 2 cents!

I mentioned in another thread that I run a tie wrap around the foot peg through holes in my jack stands when supporting the bike. At least the stands move with the bike if it shifts.

I figured that out real quick when I just about did the same thing while horsing something around one day.
