Alberta BWBers:

I have a business trip to the SW side of Calgary for a week starting April 21-25 but would like to stay until Sunday evening (the 27th). Trying to make some quick decisions before I book a flight.

I looked into motorcycle rentals for the weekend (Saturday) but am seeing 250 km (155 mile)limitations for most places. Ok, that's 2 hours of riding. What do you do the rest of the day? Look at it?

I did see the HD dealer had a Ulysses for rent, unlimited kms. I like the Uly so I'll consider that but I think snow might still be an issue. So biking may be out.

Worst case, I go skiing in Banff or snowmobiling in McLean if I can get a rental there.

Help me out guys. I hate taking business trips and not taking advantage of them.

If I don't get anyhelp I'm going to spam the board with 500 pictures of me at the curling alley!

What does limited Kms mean? The amount of "free Kms" or the amount that a person can ride?

A legitimate question. I have never seen or heard that before.

We had some of our Great Northern friends at MBV. They were amazed at the skills they saw in so many of the riders in Suches. At a stop for a break, I found out the speed limits in Canada are enforced seriously including impounding the bike and jail time, even for a first offense. So if you find one to rent, watch your speed.

Bcordb3,

Kms = kilometres.

Thank you, I knew that. I was trying to get an answer for the limitations on milage. Especially where milage is needed. I would equate living in some parts of Canada to living in some parts of Arizona as far as putting on miles is concerned..

The 250 km limit can be exceeded but at $0.25/km. With the CAD being so strong these days, that can add up quickly. Doesn't matter. I'll be skiing instead. Maybe next time, I'll have enough notice where I could ride up.

It's hard to say what the weather will be like, but according to the forecast, it is supposed to be nice next weekend; although it is crap right now. There is some great riding up here though, even if you just ride around just west of Calgary, it is really beautiful country. If you do rent the bike, or if you ride up at a later date, PM me, I'm only about a hundred miles south of Calgary, a stone's throw for an Albertan, or Texan!
