I'll probably get a TV wall mount from as well. $20 sure beats the $100 everyone else wants for the damn things.

You would also think that on some level....

One could find a reasonably priced rcvr that did away with any analog stereo audio inputs.

I'm sure the analog inputs are so cheap it woudln't matter that much. And perhaps a lot of people are still hooking up turn tables, VCRs, older DVD players and such that only have analog outputs???

Also, from some of my reading, it seems that multi-channel analog is the only method for using some of the newest and highest-definition audio stuff for the 7.1 and true HD stuff they're doing now. Supposedly, HDMI and Toslink can't carry the bandwidth needed.

I could be wrong though.

But couldn't they put just one model out in the line-up. Just think about the "clean" factor on the backside.

It would be nice to have 6 toslink with matched coaxial inputs. Toss in a multi-channel input. Build in a true 1080p switch with three or four inputs

I agree with you on the 6.1 and beyond for using the dedicated multi-channel inputs.

As for me, 5.1 is as far as I need to go.

Stores like Best Buy and Circut City make a LOT of their money on WAY overpriced cables and connectors. Someone that worked there once said they make more selling the "monster" HDMI and Component cables than they do on their HD TVs. The markup on those is insane.
