Ran across the name on another Buell forum, and had to look it up. I had no idea these guys even existed, and they've been around for 10 years! Guess they need a better dealer base. They've got some nice looking scooters for some very reasonable prices. I wouldn't mind toying with a Triton Li for a bit... http://www.vento.com/ ~SM (Message edited by Swordsman on April 09, 2008) |

There is a small dealer here in Orlando that customarily only has one Vento if he's lucky (he carries mostly scooters). He claims it is very difficult to get them from the manufacturer. He sells them as fast as he gets them in. |

Their English on their website is a bit rough in places. Not a good sign to me. Also, I saw a review in some magazine about the Vento Colt that was not favorable. Still, they are cheap. |

Looking at the specs, the bagger Vento looks like a 250cc V Twin! Hadn't seen a V twin that small since the Moto Morini 350! |

from a real scooter owner, try to stay away from vento. I have heard lots of bad things. A few good names in small bikes/scooters, Kymco, PGO, honda, Piaggio(vespa), yamaha, suzuki and my favorite Genuine. http://www.genuinescooters.com/ One of my pix is featured on the site. http://www.genuinescooters.com/scooters/buddy/budd y_3.html#fragment-5

The bike I speak of Moto Morini 350. You tube had few videos, non really showed what the bike really looked like, yes a 350 V-twin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZq_iMxTuVU&feature=related (Message edited by BCordb3 on April 09, 2008) |

Don't forget the VTR250 Interceptor. That was a SWEET little bike but didn't sell well in "Bigger is Better" USA. We had a couple of them as "Training Bikes" in the CONREP program, and I always grabbed one as my "demo" bike. Much better than the Yamaha Route 66 or Honda Rebel. My other favorite bike was the Yamaha SRX250 single. |

Yeah, there's NO WAY I'd buy a Vento bike, but the scooters all look pretty swank. For that price, I could deal with a few mechanical "eccentricities". Vespa may be a good brand, but they look boring as hell. If I got a scooter, it wouldn't be to putt out to the strip mall and grab a latte... it'd be to rip around the neighborhood and terrorize the skater punks. I DO really like the Genuine Rattler 110. That looks like fun! From the spec sheet: "110cc 2-Stroke, Forced Air" WTF?! Turbo, or maybe supercharged? ~SM (Message edited by Swordsman on April 10, 2008) |

Moto Morini 3 1/2 as it was known, was the first street bike I ever rode. I almost killed myself because it had a right side shift. I wanted to buy that bike so badly, but my uncle sold it before I got a chance to ask. Saw one recently in a local indy bike shop. The guys saw me coming and said "Nope, not for sale." DAMN!!! |

I've noticed nearly all these little scooters are 2 stroke. That seems odd to me, since emissions regulations seem to crack down on 2 strokes more and more each year. Why aren't there more 4 strokes available in the small scooters? Price, maybe? ~SM |

Saw one of those at the IMS Show in NYC. Those are BADASS little scooters. The Vespa that I have does ~62 with me and my girlfriend on it and will do ~72 with just me. |

I am now TOTALLY enamored with that Piaggio. I've got an email out to the local dealer to see if they have one available for a test ride. ~SM |
