This year I'll be heading to homecoming. I've been tossing the idea around on doing the track day. For those that have gone to the track day, how does it work, and is it worth the money?

I wouldn't do it unless you are planning on trailering your bike.

If you go down, hopefully the bike is still ridable and your not hurt. it is a long ride from Road America to Pennsylvania while hurt.

I did the track day for the first time last year. I really enjoyed the day and the cost in these type events is pretty attractive. I did put fresh rubber on the back, upgrade brakes and fluid and generally tuneup a bit so that is extra cost. I did ride with the novices as I should for the first time. I did not put pressure on myself and I thought it a great time.

Some did get hurt however so that is certainly possible. There is pretty good monitoring of what is going on by the officials.

They seem to want more extensive leathers at that event but there may be leathers to borrow, there were at Pocono.

I signed up for it at homecoming so if you and I are both going then maybe we can trailer to the track. It is better to trailer for many reasons. The track seems to be a little bit out of the way from the rest of the events.
