Part of my new job includes commuting 120 miles per day, (31,200 miles per year!) and I figured it was time for a new scooter to get me to and from. So...... drum roll please.... I picked this little baby up for a mere pittance, $6080 out the door, new helmet and jacket included. She's a 2006, but had 0 miles and includes the full factory warranty, 12 months - unlimited mileage. I figure I'll be trading for a new one every year and I just couldn't beat the price. Whaddya think? |

Looks good to me. I've not seen one in blue before. But it has a chain! |

Reminds me a friends ZR-7, a great naked standard. What kind of fuel economy do you get with that? |

Fuel economy is up in the air, haven't burned a full tank yet. I imagine it won't really be accurate until it's broken in. It is very difficult to restrain myself to 4000 rpm for the next 400 miles and 6000 rpm for the next 500 after that! It wants to run like crazy but I need to depend on it so I'm going to be meticulous about breaking it in by the manufacturer's recommendations. |

I've lusted after one of those for awhile. They're supposed to be pretty buzzy, but hey you should be able to knock that commute time in half! Congrats, but aren't Kawi's supposed to be green A cool site for this bike http://www.z1000.net/ |

What motor is it that is in this? Is it a detuned Ninja motor or a whole diff. power plant? |

I think it's essentially the same motor as a ZX-10, but I've not become a Kawasaki expert yet. This bike was on the short list of possibilities way back when I bought my Buell. I'm glad I ended up with this one. No, he doesn't have another one, it was the last one or I might have chosen a different color... like GREEN... |

So do you still have your buell? If I had to commute 120 miles a day, I would have a bergman 650 scooter. Think of it as an automatic rolling couch. |

Of course I still have her! She's currently in drydock, awaiting electrical refitting among other long-anticipated modifications. Stay tuned... |
