My old man is about to buy a Harley Electra Glide. I know the stock stereo is waterproof. I would like to install an aftermarket stereo which is obviously not waterproof. I've seen waterproof housings at bike events. Anyone have any clue where to get one of these? Any help would be awesome.

yep, they have moisture covers or you can get a marine grade pioneer that is made to get a bit wet. you pay for it though. or for a fraction of the price, run an ear bud speaker up to the helmet. Me, my motor and the road/trail are my tunes.

Well what I'm wanting to do it to put a flip screen in. I saw a Road King at Bike Week on display this year with a pull down cover that the radio was sitting in.

You can actually get some good quality water resistant head units -- the local Best Buy carries them. I see that you're in Florida so you can probably get some very nice hardware.

They can get pricey.

What year is the Electra Glide? Also I assume he is not going to keep the intercom/CB functionality or are these options not on this model?

I picked up a used factory one of ebay for mine. I know its not what your looking to do but it was the "cheaper" route for me and it was plug and play.

Still the used one close to 300 bucks but it beats the 700 H-D wanted.

nice Brum.

It's an 08'. I don't believe the intercom/CB functions are on it. I thinks just the Ultra Classic.

Just Curious but is there something wrong with the stock one? I know the standards do not come with stereos but the classics do.
