Are they going to be hardcovers?

The fun part about the book is that MOST the "remind me to tell you stories" did NOT make it . . . . the statute of limitations is still running on some of them.

The GREAT part is that it's a really good account of how Buell started, survived, grew and thrived.

It will dispel some very common myths and fallacies and provide some fun insight in the company, where it came from and where it's going.

Better yet is that some of the chapters that didn't make the cut "Special Buells" make great fodder for a future project. There simply wasn't enough time or room to get everything in.

It was fun to do, I learned a lot, love working with Dave who continues to amaze me after all these years, and I hope folks enjoy it.

I plan on seeing, just like you do with Buell motorcycles, the entire range from the "it sucks" to "I love it".

Frankly, part of the wonder of Buells is the passion and diversity of the owners.

Just like Amazon says . . hardcover and something like

I think it came out at 128 pages give or take a few. Close to 200 pictures, most have never been seen before. Heck there are some that I don't remember taking!

Interesting book publishing fact, this book is being run a press that produces only sheets of 32 pages at at time. We ended up with something like 140 pages when all was done so a bunch of stuff was cut and pictures made smaller to get it back down to 128 pages. If we had more time we could have perhaps added stuff to bring it up to 160.

Isn't that the truth!

That is one of the thing's I love most about being a Buell owner and being part of the Buell family. I have met and spoke with some really amazing people, all because of a simple motorcycle that snort's loud, blow's oil all over the place and corner's like there is no tomorrow!

All this time I thought this book was just a fictional thing. Now apparently not only is it not fictional, it's nonfiction as well (assuming embellishments don't count, surely there may be a few).
Now the big decision is whether to order the book or just wait for the movie.

Chris, I got that note and replied, I am all over that! I figure I can camp out on Court's couch with his dog. Maybe I can protect the poor critter from Court for a few days;)

I can just see it now..

Some studio will option the rights.. Start by casting some of the major players with folks they think are good for the box office..

Tom Cruise - Erik Buell
Brad Pitt - Henry Duga
Sean Bean - Willie G.
Luke Perry - Court Canfield
Orlando Bloom - Dave Gess

Then they could line up some real 'Buell' like musical contributors..

Vanya
Celine Dion
Eric Clapton (for the really hard edged music)

They'll bring in a couple of 'punch up' people to make it more.. 'hip and now'.

Fade in - Secret Buell Underground Test and Design Facility Somewhere in the Mountains of East Troy..
-Title- 1983 -
Buell is on his iPhone as he walks past the various super secret vehicles contained here (note: include at least two or three good SF type models so people will know he's really cutting edge)- "Yeah, I'll send you the CAD's on this new idea as an attachment to the email from my iPhone as soon as I drink some Diet Pepsi Lime and get a handful of M&M's. Then it's off the shizzy! I'll use only two wheels man, and then ...

EXTERIOR - MOUNTAIN SIDE IS ROCKED BY A HUGE EXPLOSION -
INTERIOR - Duga - Running up to Buell wearing his special super suit - Eric! We're under attack, it's the Veluvioun Alliance! Quick, man the Super GigaWatticizers!!

EXTERIOR -
The mountain transforms into a giant robot and after striking several heroic poses is ready to do battle with...

Yeah, Hollywood could really make something out of a story like that of the Buell Motorcycle Company..
