Jim, if my knee's up to it I have to work the demos in the morning, but after that, it's a go.

"Worst case scenario on weather: Hanging out with a bunch of nuts in the rain..."

Last year Smoke and I stayed late Sunday night after everyone left. He said he had to cook all the food he brought and we had a great meal in the stables at TWO. We used log slabs as a table and chairs and drank his beer while the rain poured down. Late Monday morning it stopped raining and we went for one last ride on wet roads. I scared myself silly trying to keep up with him (and got stung by a bee later), but THAT was a great time.

Hey Tim... I'm good for a night of steaks and beer at Wylie's in Dahlonega... let me get you back for the hospitality you showed me last year.

I got my tent and sleeping bag today. Coleman rocks! Both the tent and bag can be strapped to the meager space on the back of my XB9S. Tomorrow will be changing of the oil and installation of frame pucks. Almost ready!

I still need to test out my new tent and mattress, then I need to clean the bike a bit. I rode it last week when the roads were still pretty wet, and it's got crap caked on there. I also need to finish up the tank bag, but that should be easy.

But I think that's it! I'm about good to go!

I went out and bought some new fancy 'base layer' pants (it's not called long underwear anymore) now that all the winter stuff is discounted. They fit very nicely under the leathers.

Anybody wear bicycle shorts while riding? I've heard from multiple people that they help with long distances. I've got a pair that I may wear on the ride down (under the base layer, under the leathers, so NO, you will not get to see my fancy spandex padded shorts).

I figure I'll throw this out here before somebody else does: Mark'll be wearing his assless chaps, and I'll be in spandex short... this is not going to be a pretty ride.

I ride in cycling shorts on most long rides. I recommend them so long as the seams in the chamois is compatible with your anatomy.

Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68.

Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61.

That is as far out as I kind of, maybe a little bit trust.
This time of year, the weather guys always throw in a chance of rain, CYA kind of thing.

Y'all need to quit sweating the weather.
Sure, weather can make or break a ride, but it can not make or break March Badness, unless of course you choose to let it.
I wanna ride as much as anyone, maybe more than others since right now I can't...

On a happier note, Smokescreen just dropped by to show off his new ride. It's a Ducati 996. Extra nice!

Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61.

Lets give this an optimistic twist:

Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers.
This means that there is a 70% chance that it won't rain.

Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers.
This also means 70% chance of dry conditions.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers.
This means that theres an 80% chance of you guys depleting the worlds supply of chicken strips, and enjoying some knee draggin action!

Last year, it threatened rain all weekend. It didn't rain until Sunday and folks STILL ran up blood mountain.

Tuck yer panties in, bring moist weather gear, and man up for a great weekend regardless of the weather.

How can you possibly have 100+ of the world's most hardcore Buell fans in a 500'x500' space and have a bad time?

SCCHSSHHHWWWWEEEEEEEETTT!!!

Folks- I am bringing a very slightly used front Scorpion Sync, in case I need to trade it for a rear tire. (I had to plug the one I'm riding now- but that was a couple of weeks and 6 1/2 dragon runs ago. Still holding perfect pressure.)

Looking forward to the riding and cameraderie, rain or shine.

Saintly weather, y'all

+1!!!!

Thursday dinner sounds good if the north crew makes it in time. We had a good size group last year but with stop in Maryville and depending on the route from there to get to Suches....I'm not sure when we will be there. (I hope before 6)

I'm glad that I am able to take the Experienced Riders Coarse update on my bike before the "Season" starts.
I am looking forward to teaching this class. It should be fun with people on there own bikes.

The early morning temps are pretty chilly here yet, so I want to make sure I have enough time to spare for warm-up stops: )

i'm trying to talk the wife into doing the advanced riders course so she would hopefully build the confidence up a little bit. we'll have her blast over there so hopefully she'll ride a little bit more this year. haven't seen barker say anything about getting started with his training for the riders edge class.

3 working days for me! We are preparing for Badness this weekend.

Forecast: 60% chance of rain next Saturday and Sunday.

Rain will not dampen the fun though, just bring your rubbers.
