I'm on my third Buell and to this day I have never rode with another Buell. I am forced to ride with Harleys, Ducatis and a Vstrom, mostly.
Maybe it's a personal hygene problem? I bathe every saturday that there is water, whether I need it or not!

I've rode with lots of Buellers......but I had to go out of state to do it.....or with a visitor to Iowa. Riding with the local "hoggers"is just as much fun.......same type of nice people....... even more fun when you speed up for corners when they slow down. Their sun glass covered "Harley" personality kinda sucks at times and I just keep my mouth shut and laugh to myself. Seems their into the "look at me" more than Buellers. The road ahead of them is their second thought. Buellers get up and ride. The hoggers have to waste a lot of road time making sure they look good before they fire back up.

Yup. True that. I get "why don't you wash that thing?" My reply is usually something like "do you see that rain cloud over on the horizon? Let's go get em washed." They don't seem to want to ride for the ride, most of them. There are exceptions, of course. I think me wanting to ride Buell confuses most of my long time Harley riding friends. The just don't understand why anyone would want to ride a bike like "Booger" (the amazing self cleaning unicycle). One good friend, Al, rides an '04 wide glide and rides it well. He understands well enough. I still look forward to riding with other Buells, someday....

The sun is up, I have new tires to scrub in. See ya later!

That's the one of the features I like most about the Buell...
The Buell motorcycle is like torque, it's what everyone needs; they just don't know it...

Too many people would just ruin 'this thing of ours' anyway.

I LIKE riding the only Buell. That way I have the coolest bike in the pack.

I have the ONLY Buell in the county...maybe two counties!

I was out today (colder than...well you know!) and saw a guy on a Crotch-Rocket riding with a guy on a Road King! I guess when you're all alone anyone is good to ride with!

I like to ride by myself much of the time.

Less drama.

I tried a sportbike group here. Was less then impressed. I tend to stick with Buell riders as the ones I've meet don't ride like they have something to prove.

You can set your own pace, stop any time you want, and change the route on a whim. Riding with people is fun too, but quite often I like to go out by myself.

"We're going to fast!"

"No one stops for gas!"

"I need to pee!"

I don't like to ride in groups larger than 4 if at all. More than that, and the larger group needs to break up into smaller groups.

That said, I'll ride in groups of Buell riders anywhere, anytime.

Simply a better class of people. : D

That was the problem with my last local riding group.

Their motto was "Ride to yak". Somehow spending more time on my ass not riding isn't my idea of riding. Then when the ride was over they would spend the next week whining and bitching about the ride the last weekend.

Not enough Midol to make it worth the effort.

+1 Ft_Bstrd.

Last year Memorial Day weekend I was riding with my co-workers and the gixxer crowd. We met up at 10AM, ended up riding for about 20 minutes, stopped, did nothing for 20 minutes, rode for another 20 minutes, then everyone was done and wanted to go home. I said wtf, and ended up riding 3 hours away to Lake George, took some photos, had lunch, went off roading and rode 3 more hours back home.

What I liked about riding with you guys last October was that we actually rode! You guys pushed my limits, but I learned a lot about riding and cornering.
I like solo riding though. At Buelltoberfest I wasn’t able to get a good look at the scenery when I was in a group, but who could pass up a chance to grind pegs on Gixxer Corner? : )

I generally won't go down a dirt road, though it hasn't stopped me before neither.

I'm one of very few buellers in my area, so most of my rides have been with ricers or hogs.
They all wonder why I smile so much...

The first time I got to ride next to another tuber was like magic, as the sound of the duelling Buells had my heart all a flutter.
I imagine itll leap right outta my chest at Badness.

Torquemonster, odds are your going to leap onto someone else’s M2, stick your key in it and say "Wtf, my lock is broken", then realize you parked 2 bikes down : )

when i was working up ingainesville a few years back, went to a bike night that some one told me about and of course most of them were your typical squids. tennis shoes shorts and t shirts. one of the older guys that had an older suzuki said the last time he went out with them it was the typical ride that they'd be racing around, going around cars in curves and on double lines, doing wheelies while their doing 70 down the highway sort of thing. there was this one guy that rode in flip flops. how ignorant can some people be.

Panhead,
I rode past your town several years ago on my M2. You should try and hook up with the SPLASH ride around Mt. St.Helens.

+1 on the solo ride thing, 99.9% of my riding is that way. About the only real group ride I do is the Slimey Crud Run (even though I've missed it for the last few years) which is pretty much a meet in one place, then meet in a second place, and a fairly wide ranging free-for-all inbetween. I might do an occasional local Buell club ride, and ride with folks when they come to town for the Buell Homecomings, but mostly it's solo.

MikeJ,
I've been reading about that one some.
I did a loop down through central Oregon and up to and around Mt. Hood this winter. Got some good pics of The Hood all covered in snow and gleaming brightly in the sunlight. Bout froze my ass off though!
