What, no pics?

Would also be real nice if you documented the process of the conversion for others about to embark on Newfing their belt drives. ;)

I can get pics if you really want them,

But I had to borrow a impact socket to get the old pulley off the countershaft so I am not removing the stuff again.

When I install the rub block I will do the pics then.

Socal,

I thought that the noise was coming from the primary side but did not pay much attention to it.

Do you think my primary tensioner may have finally packed it in ??????

There is 25,500 km on it as of today.

I hope thats what your trying to tell me!!!!

Newf,
I think what SoCal was politely trying to say is to take an old primary tensioner teflon shoe and use that for a rub block. There's a pic of one around on this site someplace doing just that.

*cough*thatis*cough*whatyouwere*coughcough*tryingtosay*chokecoughhack*wasn'tit*a ck* ;)

Sometimes you can't be so discreet to those who drink Screech. :)

That'd be it! Although if you're still cruzin' with yer old primary chain tensioner, why not rip it out - install the new one and gain yourself a rub block in the process!

Hello...

Maybe some of you have wondered where I have been? Maybe some of you just do not give a shit!!! That is cool with me. Having a little vacation from the internet for the most part.

My hard drive took a dump on me a little over a week ago. Yesterday we got a semi-solution... and I have dial up on a laptop from work.

The drama continues... over a week ago we called the 'American Computer Company' and got some 17 year old woman in a third world sweat shop type Technical Support scenario... who kept reading off the website how we should take the computer apart. My co-worker finally hung up on her...

Then we ordered a new hard drive around the time I realized I failed to back up religiously....(last Friday morning) Shit!!! But the good news is that yesterday I got seven cds with all of my work files on them (thank god for those who actually know what they are doing with computers...)

Now it is two hours before closing and I am supposed to get the hard drive delivered by today...(I was also supposed to get it by Monday as well, which actully did not happen either). I am tempted to take off in two hours because it is MY weekend then, but know I should stick around for the dang thing.

It has been raining cats and dogs here all week. Has been six days since I went riding... but I am in a good mood... hee hee... got a new guy in my life... I think... anyhow we will see...

And it is only 17 days to blast off... the 19th of August I am off for 15 (count them...) 15 days.

Toodles,
Charlotte

Toodles,

You must be in a good mood,

OK another Rant

Damm Fucking Clutch Cable broke this morning. I had intended to take the bike across the island and when I went to load it into the truck with the 10 other training bikes I noticed the clutch real heavy. A closer inspection revealed that there were three, get it, three strands left on the cable.

Off to the local retailer and the bike was left until tuesday when I get back in town.

On another note while in the dealer has two new Bridgestone BT-010 tires thats going on. One more step to leaving on the 16th to meet up with Spidey on the 18th.

I hope you guys are gonna take real good care of me.

Yipppppeeeeee

Hey Newfie; is it snowing up there yet?I'm finally going to see you in person, along with all the other faceless people who haunt this forum. I'm leaving Mass. om Sunday the 17th. I have a clutch cable story of my own to tell you when I see you (actually, 2 stories).
Anyway, it's pouring rain here, but that's a LOT better than snow, 'cause
WINTER SUCKS!

I hear ya Crusty,

Winter Bites The ........

No Snow yet the temps are still in the high 20's, humid and real nice. The evenings are cool as it goes to the low to mid teens.

I am training a bunch of new bikers on the West Coast of the Island this weekend and I have been riding a 2002 Suzuki Marauder 250 for the past two days. I can't wait to get the S1 back on Tuesday

Oh well two weeks to go before I am about to board the boat to get to the mainland of North America.

If anyone wants to meet me along the way, e-mail me.

Newfie,

Delrin would be a better material choice for a rub block. Teflon's too soft.

Go with the primarychaintensioner idea.

Newfie,

Your bike is just cursed. Before you leave home, make sure you smudge the bike with some cedar, sage and sweetgrass... wave a chicken's foot over it and wash it in salt. Maybe an extra precaution would be to hang some 'good energy' crystals from it just in case... maybe some amethyst.

I have a computer again... well sort of. It is 2 pm on Monday afternoon and now I am faced with the challenge of putting all my files back on and any programs I downloaded off of the internet. God I love living in the tech-age! FOURTEEN DAYS TO BLAST OFF...

I had a nice little ride Saturday in 18 inches of flash flood water... the M2L is AWESOME, handles very well in a small pond.

I want a chain setup, too...riding in the rain all the time and kicking up all manner of sand has been rubbing the side of my belt the wrong way. All in due time...

Sand,

Thats funny, I could live with sand, its the damm road re-surfacing going on up here this year, not to mention the two or three main bridges that were washed out on the highway as well and while they are doing repairs they set up temporary bridges and put gravel near them.

Oh well the rocks should not hurt the chain.

Charlotte in white - that one is hard to imagine!!!!better run and jump off the edge of the continent as she is gonna get me

Time for a JOKE:

An African leader makes an official trip to Russia. At the end of the trip, the Russian leader tells the African that in Russia they have a custom performed at farewells called "Russian Roulette" to demonstrate one's courage. The russian whips out a revolver, loads one chamber, gives the cylinder a spin, puts the gun to his head and pulls the trigger.....CLICK.....empty chamber. He hands the revolver to his African guest, and says, "Your turn." Not to be outdone, the African repeats the ritual....CLICK.....empty.
The next year, the Russian visits the African country. At the end of the trip, the African tells his Russian peer that he was very impressed
with "Russian Roulette" and that he has spent the last year devising an African ritual to demonstrate one's courage. The African then disappears through a door only to reappear a few minutes later smiling, and says, "Your turn." The
African escorts the Russian through the door. In the room are six of the most beautiful, naked women he has ever seen. The African explains that he is to choose one of the women, who will perform oral sex on him. Absolutely dumbfounded, the Russian asks,

"What kind of test of courage is this?!"

The African calmly answers.... "One of them is a cannibal."
