I live about as far away from Peoria as you do, but if my memory serves me correctly they serve mean steak at Big AL's for lunch! LOL Hell, everything tastes better in that atmosphere! I know its not steak but is a nice place none the less. There is also a restuarant named "Schooners" on War Memorial Drive that has an absolutely huge tenderloin. Its about the size of the drinks tray that the waitress carry's out. hope this helps some. Food is not usually on the top of my list when staying the night in Peoria. Will I be going through there on my way to Wisconsin???   Bomber Posted on Thursday, August 07, 2003 - 03:11 pm:        newfie . . .nossir . . . bout 120 miles SSW of Chicago . . . . .great racing there on 17 August . . .. no codcakes, though graver . . .thanks for the tips . . . .. you're kinda cute on your profile page   Torqd Posted on Thursday, August 07, 2003 - 04:09 pm:        Well there are only a few non-chain Steakhouse restaurants in town...Alexander Steakhouse...It is on the river...5 min from downtown...it is a cook your own steak place(for a few bucks they will also cook it)...huge steaks and nice salad bar...pretty good...and then there is Lariat Steakhouse...good old style steak house...haven't been there for 10 years... so I can't vouch for the place but it used to be really good...and then there is a newer place out north of peoria in a new outdoor mall...Johnny's Italian Steakhouse...I have been there once and I had pasta...very nice and classy...live jazz on the weekends...good food though...then there is always Outback, Ned Kelly's, Lonestar, and then finally Texas Roadhouse...so if you need info on any of them let me know and I will get it for you.
