We got tickets to the pre-season Packers/Seahawks game this past season so I got to see Favre play in person at least once.

By the sounds of things McCarthy and the crew weren't really welcoming him back.

Mebby he should stick out another season. Did you see what Big Ben's new contract looks like? $102,000,000.00! Wholly pay check Batman! Sure it is hard work and it hurts most of the time, but that ain't to shabby.

Healthy, wealthy, and still playing good football!

He picked a perfect time to retire.

I wonder what he's going to do next.

I wanted to take my Son to a game next year. His favorite player he'll never get to see in person.
At least I got to see him play the year they won the Superbowl. Sad day in Wisconsin. Non- stop T.V coverage.

the average NFL career is less than four years. anyone who is sad is selfish and needs a life.

Brett has done it all. nothing to stick around for except to get hurt and ruin his quality of life for the next 30-40 yrs.

i wasn't talking about your son or any kids for that matter. i was referring to grown adults that know and understand what goes on in life.

the lions have nothing to do with this.

Sadness marks the end of an era, and the pride and joy he brought to packers fans for so long. The guy is an ironman who had an unparalleled career. Only true fans, working in the cold and snow, working with pain, know the depth of his inspiration. We've celebrated his victories and triumph, and felt his pain and heartbreak.

Badlionsfan,

A grown adult that knows and understands what goes on in life, wouldn't be pissing in a thread meant to celebrate an icon. A grown adult wouldnt pass judgment on the passions of others.

Sounds like you have a way to go yet.

Within minutes Brett will be telling the world his future. I'm sitting here infront of the TV. It maybe a very very sad day here in Wisconsin and for fan's everywhere. As someone that every Sunday during Football season gets a bar ready for food and what not for the last 13 years. Its gonna be a very hard season to get used to next year. I'll miss watching him.

Well........ its over. It even started to choke me up a bit, watching him say goodbye. He is a very modest man. I hope we still see him from time to time in title town.

Badlionsfan is just pissed that Packers will *STILL* have the best QB in the NFC north next year.

So is Kitna gonna predict 10 wins again this year?

BWAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAAAA

But, back to Favre, we'll certainly miss him. But better he went out on his own, rather than being carried out on a stretcher.

I never met this guy, but yet I feel that a friend is gone. The mood here in Wisconsin is almost as though there's been a death in the family. Its eerie.

The only thing I can say to folks looking here from the outside is this. How would you feel if a friend of 16 years decides to leave? No he wasn't a personal friend of mine, but he brought something here 16 weeks a year for 16 years.....emotion, dedication and a work ethic beyond all belief. All three of those are important factors in being from Wisconsin. That's probably why we bonded with a guy we never even knew, he's like us. I think that's why alot of people across the country bonded with him as well.

My hope for Mr Favre is that he doesn't slip back into old habits now that his time isn't occupied with football and he enjoys his family, friends and the money he earned.

no steve, the Bears will STILL have the best QB in the division. Rex Grossman is the man.

i hope the above comment illustrates the sarcasm of my posts. i don't hate the packers or favre at all. most of my family in the UP of mich are packer fans. in fact i have packer t-shirt somewhere that was autographed by Leroy Butler.
