Im looking for a rattle can paint color to paint my side seat rails the same color of my frame(06 ss). It looks like a grafite gray but im not sure? Anyone done this and know what paint to use? Or should i just take it to someone to paint, cant be that much to do!

They SHOULD sell the exact match at the dealer. There are only two colors - the silver and the metallic dark gray

graphite gray is what you want, you can order it from any dealer.

Al @ American Sportbike can also hook you up with the Buell branded graphite grey. I used it to paint my subframe, R fairing bracket and to touch up my swingarm where I spilled brake fluid and it matches perfect after it cures a month or so. Shop the price between Al and Andy and see who's got the best deal; they both sell it.

one more question.... do i need to get all the old powder coat off the side rails and fender before i paint them or can i just put a couple of coats over the top?

one more question.... do i need to get all the old powder coat off the side rails and fender before i paint them or can i just put a couple of coats over the top?

You'll need to get your self a scotchbrite pad and scuff your side rail's until there isn't any hint of a sheen left on them. then wipe clean with some mineral spirits. Then your ready to prime. After a couple coats primer. You sand the primer smooth with some fine grit sandpaper. After that you can paint.

How much will one can of the paint cover? I'd like to do the seat rails, swingarm, and frame... Will two cans cover it? One?!
