Sorry for the off subject topic.
Does anybody know of a good place to get a receiver fixed?
I have a RXZ1, supposed to be a super duper stereo. It has been crapping out lately.
Front center heat sink keeps getting hot and receiver goes into automatic shut down. No codes, no nothing. I really hate to junk this thing because I spent big bucks on it when it first came out. If anybody can help me with a link or recommend a place to send it to I would appreciate it. Or if somebody wants to make me an offer. Everything works (at least for a half an hour or so)

I had some woofer's reconed here:
Columbus Speaker Co
4532 Indianola Ave, Columbus, OH 43214
(614) 267-0808

They charge fair prices and the work is quality.

Have you contacted Yamaha to see if it can be fixed?

Check around at some small tv repair places. A problem like that should be easy to fix.

dare I say it...

open it up and clean some of the dust out? usually that's why my computer/stereo stuff with electronic heat sinks usually overheat.

just wondering, I tried it and it worked on my old VCR and stereo that was in a fire that was doing the same thing. had a bit of dust in everything.

Thanks for the help.

I have tried a couple of local places for some other stuff that I needed fixed recently and they both suck. One of them after 3 attempts to fix a sub (6 months) finally gave up and refunded my money. Now its so screwed up that I have to buy a new amp for it.

I just want a no nonsense, no hassle, fair deal. And after all the crap that I have recently gone through I don`t blindly trust anyone anymore. That`s why I was asking for some recommendations.

The 1st thing I checked was the speakers. Usually I run them so hard that the coils over heat and either burn open or short. Then I checked the wires and connections. Then finally opened the receiver up and blew all the crap out. I`ve done every thing that I can do so now it needs to go to the doctor.
