Mostly for the South East folks, but could be anywhere. Keep your eyes open as you are out and about.

SUBJECT BEATEN DOWN FOR GOOD MEASURE

+1

I have a friend I'll call Wes (cause that's his name) who is a police officer in a fairly large city. Late last year a thug high on crack came at him with a knife and tried to stab him twice. After lunging at him Wes introduced him to a billy club, after all was said and done the guy ended up with two broken arms and witnesses were yelling that he had gone too far. WHAT? Someone stabs at me and two broken arms would be a Godsend. His superiors told him he had every right to shoot the guy but Wes didn't want to be a desk jockey for a year during the investigation. He had to babysit the guy later on in the hospital and he didn't remember him. Wes said it all turned out good when the guy started crying because he couldn't even wipe his own face.
I'd say he can't wipe elsewhere, just hadn't figured it out yet.: )

Often times it is a non-custodial parent that takes the child. In this case, it appears, the subject was both the father and a molester.

There are examples all over the map ranging from great cops to bad cops.

I've got an ex-brother in law who was (and still is) a cop with the Sacramento PD.

He had real "temper issues" and I was on a ride along with him one night. Watched him pull over when he saw a drunken bum laying in a park, drag the guy to the car, splatter him on the hood and basically beat the crap out of him for no reason and toss him in the gutter.

I know of examples on the other end of the spectrum.

Pretty much parallels the human condition . . there are some really good folks and some really bad. We make choices who we deal with.
