hi guys anyone with soem advise would be helpful. I will check the bike when i get home tonight but this is what happened. I took it out this morning and pulled out of the driveway ok then i hit a speedbump about 20mph and i heard somehting like the trnasmision was released. i shifted geras but nothing my bike was on neutral while being on 1st adn then 2nd gear. I turned off the bike and shifted to neutral and started the bike, i shift to 1st and second but nothing. I walked the bike bike to my home. i remeber soemone telling me that low tans fluid could cause this simptoms, i will check tonight but if anyone has any other ideas please advise. sincerely xb rider |

Could have jumped the primary chain if it was too loose. Spring plate in the clutch could have come apart (does the lever feel normal or crunchy?). Or could be an internal transmission problem (not from low fluid). I had a mainshaft bearing go out on my S1W and it was stuck in fifth gear *and* whichever gear I was trying to select, at the same time. Needless to say, that didn't work too well... |

I might be the shifting drum and the pawl that makes it turn. It is possible that that notorious little clip has fallen off and you stuck in a false neutral or something like that. If it is starting and running normally, the primary chain must be okay. You can't electric start without a primary chain. Jack |

+1 to Jackbequick. Now that he brought it up and jarred my memory, that is what happened to my S2 years ago. Symptoms were the same - all seems well but shifting the bike has no effect as in engaging a gear. It is a quick and inexpensive fix if that's what it is. |

hey guys just got home and checked it and guess what the belt is gone, lol so it must have fallen off when i walked the bike back home. i in such a rush to get to work i did not noticed and i wrongly assumed it was something else. thanks for the help tho and i guess we know that the original belt will go to 30k for 3 years before it snaps, i believe that is 5k more then what is recomended. |
