"It's Harley-Davidson's engineers that brought us the XB and Blast..."

There's a handful of Buell engineers in East Troy who would gladly stuff that quote somewhere where your head usually is.

Do you not all work under the Harley umbrella? Without Harley you would all be unemployed by now.

As far as your stupid threat goes, grow up already. Either that or make a bike that doesnt need rebuilding every 2500 miles.

Try to have a decent topic & conversation going & some asshole Anon always has to butt in.
Thanks for ruining a good topic.

I just saw an article on the sales somewhere & Harley is offering all kinds of incentives to unload the 03's asap.

I got a mailing recently from Twin Cities Harley and they are offering 0% financing on selected 100th anniversary models. About five years ago they would have hauled you off in a straitjacket if you even asked the dealer about getting 0% financing on a new Harley!

Dyna,

They don't say. It just says "Certain restrictions apply, see TCHD/Lakeville for details, O.A.C., limited time offer" whatever that means. I am planning on riding down there on Saturday. My speedo sensor died on my M2 so I need to pick that up and they are having the HD traveling museum that I want to check out. They have an 800 number if you want to call: 800-543-2792.

Was just windering if its a 1 yr, 3 yr, or 5 yr loan period.

Some car manufacturers have had 0% before but it was for a 1 yr loan. I dont know about anyone else, but I am sure as hell not paying off a Harley in 1 yr.

Come on! Get that big bagger you've always dreamed about. The payments will only be about $1,800 a month! No problem!

Compared to an Ultra or a Roadglide the Roadking is positively anorexic.

2004 Sporty, well when I rode it (right after V-Rod introduction) it was supposed to be 2003.

'Close up' of engine.
2004 Sportster Engine
Sure didn't look anything like an XB engine to me, as the XB's were also released at that time. Just looked like a Sporty with some differently styled components on it and rubber mounts.

What happened to the monoshock?
I wanna see a monoshock on the Sportster.
They would just about have to have one, unless they're only worried about straight lines (like the VMax)

Oh well. So much for a new cutting edge bike. That looks like a regular sportster to me.
Unless that was just some sort of test mule?? I sure as hell hope so. It would make sense for Harley not to change to much about the bike and call it totally redesigned.

Looks like an Ironhead rocker box? A different style/improved rocker box with breather improvements from the Blast!/XB or DOHC? I'd like to see the right side to see if there are traditional metal pushrod tubes or composite or a chain for DOHC. Personally, I hope it still is pushrod & not too many changes. Mostly, just the improvements they've made to the XB engines such as piston oil jets. I hope they keep the trap door on the tranny.

HEY DYNA!!
What do ya mean your not paying off a Harley in one year? I paid mine off in 3 months. All it takes is the right financial planning..

Here is another view, with the rear wheel looking a little truer:

Well, it looks like it has old style Buell shift linkage and pegs under the seat. Smart move for HD -- back to the future!

I think you fixed it a little too well. Comparing Buells to sporty's...after having worked on some sportsters lately the frames on the things look like designs straight off the '70's drawing board. The only good thing about 'em is easy accesability to components. Watching the old AMA TwinSports races as a kid was all I had to see for an idea about Sportster potential. There are some bikes I've seen upgraded for modern suspension, steering geometry and wheels that've had a lot of frame gusseting added. Harley should be taking note.

The heads & Rocker boxes sure like the XB heads to me...nothing like Ironheads...note the oil filter is mounted higher up too.
