Anyone think it's a bad idea to run a Sport front and Road rear? I had a set of Roads and a set of Sports. Then I went for the Road on the rear and a Sport up front. Had those on there when I went to VIR last year, and Buelltoberfest. Believe me, you will not have any problems. I was in contact with Greg Reich who is in charge of Continental North America, and he recommended doing it also. It seems that a lot of their test riders in Germany go with that exact set up also on their personnel rides. SPIDEY- You will not be disappointed! I'll be bringing some extra's with me, just in case! PM and I'll give ya the run down on my experience with the Conti's How many non-riding wifeys are going to be at MB-V? Yo Vern- I just had a new front tire mounted yesterday- if I feel healthy enough tomorrow I may head to the Gap to scrub it in. 56 degrees expected for a high- hopefully it'll all come together for me. Holler if you're getting out and riding. By your count, who do we have for a TN posse? (Somehow I'm thinking 6-10 including a couple non-badweb folks but I'm not sure.) | ||

Hey Fattie- I'm thinking about heading down south ASAP Thursday, maybe taking a scenic alternate route from Tellico Plains, as long as it makes sense timewise to get to TWO with the better part of an hour's daylight left to pitch camp. Leaving Mur-vil, 411 to 360 to 68N briefly to 39 to 315 to 64 to 68 to 5 to 515/76 to 60. If you have time/distance planning capability, check it out. The more direct way to go would be straight down 68, but the fun is on these other roads. I'll try to ride a loop out and back before too long- may be able to estimate T/D better afterward. | ||

Ft_b, I am planning on leaving Thursday afternoon sometime. Right now it doesn't matter when for me. Orangeulius informed me this evening that he has locked in a deal on a cabin. He and a couple of friends are leaving Thursday AM. I would like to leave early enough to head into Tellico Plains then over the Cherohala then on to Suches, like Squids said, an hour before dark or so. I haven't got the map out yet, but I'm thinking maybe we could meet up in Tellico Plains at the BP around 3:00. That should give us time to cruise the Cherohala and make a really nice ride while still getting in on time. I got a GPS for X-Mas. I will program it in and see what the electro map says. I'm liking the way you are thinking Brad. If anyone heading down from the North Thursday afternoon wants to have a fun scenic twisted route into Suches, if the timing could be lined up right, we'd be happy to escort ya! It will take a little longer than slabbing into Georga, but man what beautiful roads that the rest of MBV probably won't have time to get to. | ||
