That road is about 2 hours from my place. Still learning the Bass, but this 'Apple garage band' software is great! That was recorded on my acooo stick bass and nylon string classical guitar - run through a GB and it's amazing drum machine. Both the guitars have pickups and they plug straight in to the computer and record multiple takes seamlessly. Any of you guys used this? http://www.apple.com/logicexpress | ||

Dave: What are you using for an interface? I'm looking at Digi-Design and, as it turns out, it comes with Pro Tools. In the never ending parade of the weird and unusual I got a xmas gift for a year of Apple One-on-One. I go to the first class . . the guy is not only a whiz (about my age) but runs a professional recording studio and is a Professor of Music Theory at a college in NYC. He can transmit. . . question is now if I can receive! | ||

Now I can stop talkin' on the phone and type again! Garage band works as the interface.  Welcome to the music room of the DD cave and secure underground facility.  both my guitars (it's "the hippie's" electric) have pickups and they plug straight in to the back of the mac.  You just have to tell it what input to use and the software does the rest. The amount of manipulating you can do is impressive - but still limited enough to make you want to splash out on the suite. (My mum gave me the harley lamp for christmas - it has working headlights and sound! Funny girl.) | ||

Oh - and the keyboard plugs straight in to the usb - doesn't even need power. | ||

Dave sounds pretty good! i am running Logic Studio it is AMAZING! you can pick it up on ebay for around $300 us. which is about the cost of logic express. what did you use for video editing? Court, if you are looking for a good interface look into the Apogee Duet. i have read a lot of really good reviews about it. i am using a focusrite saffire pro 26 i/o it is also very nice. but unless you need 26 ins and outs it would be a little over kill. be carefull buying anything digidesign. the last time i checked they where not leopard compatible yet. but that may have changed. | ||

Lately for vid editing I'm using iMovie. I have Premiere for my older macs, but the upgrade is horrible $ so I did buy a copy of Final Cut express II - but it won't run on my G5 because there is no Vid card suitable We're currently trying to find a workaround for that little conundrum. | ||

Just a cheapie. $250 - Chinese job - but it has a nice enough action and even a built in tuner and doohickeys - and it's blaaaaaaaack. | ||
