"The local Traffic Section also have an unmarked Fireblade available to them." That's the one I would be scared of. |

Daytona Beach police have Buell Ulysses in there stable. I saw one getting serviced at Bruce Rossmeyer's HD/Buell in Ormond. |

I wonder if this will catch on in the US with the XB12XT. It makes sense. American made, cheaper, quicker and more nimble than a Harley, all day comfort and plenty of storage space. |

Great idea. East Troy and other areas had Buell Police bikes a long time ago. The Uly sure makes sense. LIght weight, big bags, quick, handles, cheaper, air cooled, could do light dirt roads. makes sense to me. HD and Buell should really push this one. I know our police in clayton california had a kawasaki single dirt bike set up for one of the officers. could go anywhere, on any trail, etc. thanks, REX |

Shuweet!!!! I had been talking with a motor officer not too long ago who wanted a Uly for his personal ride. How's about setting up the whole county po-po with these steeds? It just makes so much sense, especially compared to the regular fleet offerings. They'd be so happy in the saddle, they'd write fewer tickets. |

Capt Mark They have those because not far from Douche Rossmeyers in either north on US one or just the other side of that McDonalds across the street, we have a serious ATV problem. We got guys that will scream out anywhere on 4 wheelers, dirtbikes and those souped up golfcarts! I watched a cop on a Uly go in the woods after the guy on a Kawi KFX 700. I knew the guy on the Kawi and I hate to say it, that Kawi quad smokes anything! it was punched out to relatively 750cc, bigger everything, and a sneaky pete Nitro kit. Top speed he had been clocked at was 160+. And that was on gravel. rumor has it our green bandit had steet slicks and out ran a state trooper camaro SS. |

I want a p.a. system on my bike...that way I can properly chew the a$$ of the preoccupied drivers out there that are so persistent at driving me off the road:P |

A Fireblade is what Honda calls the big-bore CBR's in Europe. The first Buell I ever saw on the street was when the Duluth, Georgia (suburb of Atlanta) police department was using them about 10 years ago. Gotta give them credit for thinking out of the box, but I don't think it was a rousing success. |

Seattle cops ride Harleys but experiment with other makes to test the waters. The cops I've talked to seem to like the hogs but some lament the passing of the Kawa 1000's they used for eons. But the Uly or XT makes good sense for police duties. |

Can the cops hear the radio over the fan noise? Or is it used in place of a siren? |

sumna biatch, get to ride fast, blare the sirens, run over the speed limit, and shoot back !?! I think the Buell would kill the Ponch and John image of the CHP ;) Bring it on (Ps we are working with a couple of local PDs for the TT, in white and black of course) We shall see. |

i was told that the harley dealer in tampa leases the bikes for a dollar to the sheriffs and police dept just as long as they do the maintenance on them. is that how all of them are set up and why a lot of them use harley. |

Sure wish someone on here was at the winter dealer meeting and took some pictures of the Police Ulysses that was on display. My dealer told me about it and that it is something Buell will begin offering, but will be kept low profile. He mentioned it had different bags than the standard Uly bags - top lid, typical of law enforcement bikes - but didn't mention if he took any pictures. 1313 |
