should be interesting since WI doesn't require license plates on small trailers.

I have pulled two trailers loaded from South Bend IN to Atlanta GA with no tags, and had no problems. One trailer didnt even have lights!

I'm interested. I've never attended the MB events tho.

Is there a schedule of events yet?

I was just thinking of the "enhanced" enforcement the Deal's Gap region has been experiencing. Towed this trailer across WI, MN, SD, WY, UT, NV, CA, OR, WA, ID, MT with no hassle, not sure how it will be recieved in NC with a bike in it though. Probably no hassle, but will still be interesting.

There isn't really a schedule of events... this is how it went down last year:

Thursday:
People start to arrive in the afternoon. There will be an evening run to Dahlonega for some Dinner.

Friday:
A ride will leave early for the Dragon. People will be arriving all day.
Small unorganized rides will go through the day in the area of Suches (Wolf Pen Gap loop)

Saturday:
Demo rides will begin. Many unorganized rides around the loop. Possibly some organized longer rides

Sunday:
Same as Saturday, but people will be slowly dissapearing.

I would carry some sort of proof that the trailer is legal without the plate.

Speaking of which!

EVERYONE make sure you have good, up to date copies of your license, registration, and insurance information! Many people were pulled over last year, I don't know of many tickets, but still.

"Sunday:

That sounds spooky scarey.

Two guys talking:
BadweB guy walking up to a local's bike:
"Nice bike, how have you got your aux lights wired"
Local guy:
'Hi, I ran a wire from a spare fuse spot up under (pausing to look up to check if the BadweB guy can see where he's pointing to) heerrrre, uh, hmmm, where'd he go?'
Another local:
"hey, what's up"
First local, not taking his eyes off of the other local:
'uh, well, uh, never mind' (slowly backs away from the conversation)

For Badness/Suches newbs like myself...

Would any seasoned Badness vets be willing to lead an easy paced ride thru Wolf Pen?

Im a back of the packer and dont want to hold anyone up on their "spirited" pace run.

Jeremy-much appreciated. Ive never been, so you're a vet in my book.
We'll figure out a day/time as the event draws closer-whatever's convenient for you will work for me.

Charles-Thanks man. Ill be coming to Suches solo, so itll be nice to meet folks and ride along with em. I just dont wanna hold anyone up. After my stint as a "stumpgrinder" Im all about riding my own pace.

Im pulling for your profile pic to make it onto the event shirt.
Buell, curvy road, knee down, COP brakelights...
Classic.

Man, am I ever stoked for this...
March cant get here soon enough.

Take it easy on WPG. Last time I was on it, I forgot how narly it is.

I got frisky, whacked the throttle to pop a wheelie, next thing I remember I was completely air-born, flying above the road about aboard NineR Airlines, landed hard, bottomed out the shocks and developed a mild tank slapper. That was the same run I saw Fat running on metal bands in his tire. Crazy!

Yall kids have fun and stay safe, I will be @ MSF coach training.

Yeah, WPG claimed my rear at 1800 miles.

Fat pilot and twitchy throtlle hand were contributing factors.

Torque, I have offered to lead a ride to fit your needs. I listed it way back at the beginning of this thread. I am planning to go out with the "boys" on a hot run, and after that I am willing to lead a "tour the area mountain ride".

Just look me up when you get there!

I guess I'm a veteran.
I know a few roads around.
I don't however like running with large groups, I've a checkered past when it comes to group rides.
I will ride out with a smallish group, say five or less, me being one of the five.
I'm hoping to get set up Thursday sometime.
So if anyone would like to sneak of with me...

I am a newbe so I will with the slow riders.
Or will there be an intermediate riders group? Defiantly not going out on a hot run. But don’t need to gold wing speed eater.

Agreed Glitch. More than 6 total, and there is a profound increase in indcidents. Mentally, folks feel like they have to keep the group together. As a result there is an increasing tendency to take chances, make bad passes, and ride beyond the conditions or abilities.

Pre-ride "rules" roll out also helps. When Barker, Maximum and I rode, I could tell that Maximum was riding more relaxed when he understood that he didn't need to keep us in sight. At every turn, every stop, or at the end of every run, we would be waiting. We rarely had to wait longer than a few seconds, but it took the pressure off of him to try to keep up on roads he was unfamiliar with. It made the rest of the run SO much better for everyone.

I try to do a pre-ride briefing to let everyone know the route, what to expect, what the turns will be, and what the "rules" for the leader are (we always stop at turns ect., no one gets left behind, a thumbs up will be secured for each rider before we continue, what the hand signals are for "I need to stop.", "I need gas.", or "I've got to pee." (really, I have a buddy with a prostate issue who needs to stop often. Knowing that you'll be able to call "pee break" makes all the difference in stress levels.))

I'm sure all this is old hat to everyone, but occasionally there will be folks who don't ride in groups often who need to know what to expect.

I think that the unfamiliar twisties are gonna demand all of the riders attention. If you arent familiar with group style riding, youre gonna have two BIG obstacles to overcome.

Im all about smaller groups.

'Ride your own ride".

As this is the 5th year of MB, the variables will increase.

Focus on <your> best line, not necessarily the same line that the guy in front of you is taking.

Keep away from the "paint", leave the best margin you can.

The GA curves are fairly consistent- bring good tires and keep pressures right.

large or small, alot has to do with who's leading the run and i totally agree on the ground rules being known first.

Squids asked about a day trip to the Gap/ Cherohala from T.W.O, via Tellico Plains.

I have done this the past 4 times I have been to T.W.O. The departure time from Suches needs to be about 9:00am. Twist my arm hard enough and I'll lead a trip this year!

The pace is moderate, with planned stops. Nobody is left behind.

My plans for Thursday are still open. I could take an easy 5 hour ride across state to be at the Dragon by 2pm. I may trailer with the wife and daughter to Suches. As we get closer and I find out who is doing what, I will decide the route.
