I'm getting set for delivery of my 06 Ulysses, and tried to get insurance coverage from Shelter, where I have 4 other vehicles insured. They couldn't, as they said the bike is on a non-insurable list for Shelter. Anybody else found this? My last Buell was insured w/Shelter. Anyway, I got what looks like a decent quote from Geico, at 463/yr for 12 month full coverage. I guess I'm going to get to know the gecko... Just wondering what made Shelter change. Maybe they watched some stunt videos or something ; )

I got a quote of about $350.00 a year before a bought my XB12Stt. Within a week it had gone up "just a little" to over $1300.00 a year! I drop them and found another insurance co to deal with.

Crooks all of them. you HAVE to buy insurance BY law and they treat you like crap, lie to you, cheat and out right steal. If you doubt the stealing part file a claim and see what they are willing to offer you.

if you have the title to the bike, you don't need insurance on a bike in florida. like anything else, it's a crap shoot.

nationwide pretty much told me no.... Nationwide does not directly insure motorcycles it is done thru a company whose name is Allied......who quoted me $5000. Yep 5k. that is for a 40 year with a clean record and good credit.

Progessive for about 30 bucks a month.

I'm 24 with a good driving record and scored a policy with Progressive for about half of what anyone else wanted.

I looked at Progressive and they were 563 per year. The Gecko rules so far on this quest! flbikerwolf said he's waiting on shipping info, so it will be no earlier than the middle of next week I'm sure. Still some time to shop! And, for reference, I'm 45/married/no accidents/no tix or violations. About as good as it gets! My klx250s is like 185/year with Shelter.

for what it's worth check into putting your klx on the insurance with the uly. Many places offer multiple bike discounts. you may save more by switching the klx over to the same company with the uly.

I'm paying about $600 a year for full coverage with Dairyland (HD Insurance). I'm 35, single, clean record and good credit.

The first year it was $1200, second year $800, and now $600 this year. I'm hoping it will continue to drop until I decide I don't think full coverage is worth it anymore on this particular bike.

I was pleasantly surprise at what Safeco offered me. They were one of the only one to offer anything remotely affordable at my location. As soon as my address was given most insurance companies jacked my rates.

Currently ~800 a year.

Molly, what do you expect, you ride one of the squidliest bikes. I am surprised it is not more.

USAA told me last year that they would no longer insure motorcycles unless you already had one on the policy. If I ever take all the bikes off of the policy I can't go back and insure another one. Good excuse to the wife to always have a bike! (or three) I'll never get rid of USAA though. Great company to deal with, and not just for insurance.
