I don't love cats (or any pets in general), but I wound up with a cat from my last relationship. My ex-girlfriend traveled too much to take care of HER cat she adopted while we were living together... now it's just me and the kitty. I didn't realize how much I grew to like the little furball until I came home one day and her eye was closed for some reason. I freaked out and ran her down to the vet and the conversation went like this... NAME PLEASE: Uh... Kittie. IS THAT YOUR NAME, SIR? No... it's the cats name. WE NEED YOUR NAME, SIR: Oh... Dan Kaplan. IS THE CAT A PATIENT HERE ALREADY? Yes. WE HAVE NO RECORD OF THAT SIR: How can you tell just from her name? There must be hundreds of cats named Kittie that come her. NOT UNDER THE NAME DAN KAPLAN, SIR: Oh... well it's not really my cat. It's my ex-girlfriends cat and I got left with her. IF SHE'S STILL THE OWNER WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING UNLESS SHE SIGNS A RELEASE FORM SAYING IT'S OKAY: But I'm the one who's going to pay the bill... WELL THEN STEP RIGHT IN, SIR And so on and so on... I had never taken an animal to a vet before. They tuned her up pretty good and the nurses there were very pretty. I think I may ask one out. Not entirely happy getting left with this cat... but I guess I'm a cat guy now. Just what I always wanted to be... a middle aged, single man with a cat. | ||
