I think it was around 20 with 30mph gusts when I headed out. I figured I'd meet Mikef5000 at Starbucks like it was originally planned. I arrive there at a couple minutes past 9 to find that no one had arrived. I grabbed some caffeine and grabbed a seat. A few minutes later a gentleman on a dresser showed up. After that it was another 15 before Mike and his dad had showed. We drank coffee and admired my cell phone of all things. After a little while we came to the grim realization that we were the only ones coming, bundled up and headed to the meet.
The scene outside of Starbucks.

We got to the Flying J and found that WolfRidgeRider, a bike belonging to LostInOhio and the XB9R belonging to another

The unnamed XB9R rider with a really nice bike sporting CRG doodads, sliders, Buell bags and 57,000 miles!

"Hey, uhh, dude. You're headlight is burnt out."

Those Dunflop Qualifiers were super squirrelly when they are cold. My bike was the only one WITHOUT Pirelli's.

Well no riding HERE in NE Indiana as there's about 9" on the ground and it's STILL coming down with more tonight and tomorrow they say.

Think Buell will ever build a snowmobile?

Temps were about the same here, this morning, when I went out for my annual New Years Day ride. After watching the Weather forecast on the local news this morning, and looking at the radar, I figured that I had until about 10:00 when the snow started. I almost rode into Boston to look at the ice sculptures, but I decided that the sky was darkening at a rate that seemed ominous. I only did about 40 miles on main roads, then made it home. I was home less than an hour when the snow started, so I made the right decision.
Nevertheless, Tradition was maintained and I broke the New Year in right.

It was almost 40 miles to get home. I was going to go to Grove City, but decided that it's an additional 30 miles I didn't feel like doing.

Now is the time to figure out which tires I'm going to be stuck with...

Gee, thanks Wolf, there goes my secret identity.

Mike: from the 2002 Buell apparel & accessories catalog
Men's touring jacket (99738-01BM $300.00)
Men's touring pants (99740-01BM $245.00)
I had my dealership parts guy plug the number into the dealer net and locate a store with the pants. I then rode to Pennsylvania to buy them. Good luck!

Gee, I'm getting my yearly post out of the way awfully early this year....

Mark you outed weeble.........hehehhehe

Nice to met you guys today. The road going south was slipperier than going north. I got passed by a couple of cars and trucks shedding a bunch of ice. Big chunks at 70mph is kinda scary.

I am not a really big starbucks guys...... More a truck stop kinda guy.

Ehh... Try Crema Cafe behind the fire department in Grove City on 665. Good stuff. Tell him James with the Buell sent ya.

Anyway, I napped with my cat for a few hours and woke up to a stuffed Brian Griffin doll on my Buell. No notes, no e-mail. Nothing.

I moved him for a better photo to the trees.

And snow.

holy socks, I thought I was the only bueller to go for a polar bear run this monday with those dunlops on my buell.

When its cold on tire and pavement its pretty scary trying to lean over on those qualifiers. But summer time and about a half hour into the ride they finally start to bite pretty good. I'm still gonna switch to some scorpions.

WHY do people still have those Dunflops on their Buells? Are they still sold that way in some areas?

My Qualifier on the back is not the stock tire. I'm reasonably happy with the 208 on the front, but the Qualifier is a real warm climat/performance tire and was garbage cold. I'll be burning it off in a few weeks.

When I got up from my nap it was gusting up to 30mph and snowing, it sucked. I had to pick up the roommate at the airport. My window regulator broke when the traffic cop had me roll it down. Peice of crap, try 30 miles of driving with no window in a snow storm. It sucked in the worse possible way.

Just for fun, I ran those part numbers above, and we unfortunatley don't have them. But if you tell me what size you might need, I might be able to help you find another dealer who does.

(FYI - size Large doesn't seem to exist anywhere in the dealer network, but Mediums did - I just chose randomly.)

The Pirelli MT-60s bite nice in the cold and hook up well in the white powdery stuff. Welcome to winter and the polar bear ride. Looks like you had a nice turn out for the Buellers.
