Credit goes to Bob's BMW, Jessup, MD, where I stopped in to get some Gerbing's socks today. I just wish it came with a Buell logo on the front instead of the BMW.

Thought I'd get one for the spring and wear it into any local HD Store (especially one that doesn't sell Buells).

Bound to be a conversation starter

I think the, "When you're done with your bike, I have some silverware you can start on" is 100% sufficient

It would run like this:

'I have my sh*t together enough to keep my bike in showroom condition and ride the wheels off it.

Wash your bike loser. Next.'

>>A clean bike is a happy bike.<<

And particularly on a big V-twin - it's where you spot the loose fasteners and shakey bits etc when giving it a bit of TLC.

D-Dave, when I got my X1 I rode the 250 miles to a hotel and had to stop, momma was tired and I was extremely cold. 20 degrees in the hills of PA. I put the bike in the room with us and later that night we got to "christen" it. (use your imagination) That pic brings back fine memories!

Back to "my favorite Buell t-shirt" for a minute. Here is mine, below, from SouthValley HD and was a small club from there at one time. D-bird's also a proud owner. Bob

Clean is one thing, polished is another. And obsessive compulsive behavior is hardly having one's sh*t together (although it's close - it is anal)

I'm going to have to get one of those shirts.

I like the Aerostich Cars Suck tee shirt my bro gifted to me. It goes with any bike and never gets any arguments from any bikers:

cars_suck

Looks like a pre-war Harley or Indian, maybe a WLA but the sentiment is right on the money. Sometime cagers will avoid eye contact with you when you're wearing it.

If I rode a V-strom I wouldn't bother washing it.

edit: - often.

The owner's manual says:

'Frequently clean and wax your new Buell motorcycle to inhibit rust and corrosion'

It also says:

'Do not let the brakes, engine, mufflers and air cleaner to get wet when washing your motorcycle'

Pardon????

I am neither obsessive or compulsive.
My issues are related to 'no-syndrome syndrome'.

Thanks for clarifying. I see you didn't deny being anal. That's good - admitting that you have a problem is the first step to successful recovery. Good luck

Send me the t shirt. I can always use another polishing cloth.....: ]

Seriously, you guys would spend good money on a t shirt that shows your concern for the amount of time other people might spend cleaning there bikes?

My cleaning and yes, polishing time don't cut into my riding time anymore than the time I spend here, which is not at all.

The riders it's comments are aimed at wouldn't ride any more if you polished their bike for them!

It's not even a good looking shirt!

I wash my bike. I hate dirty machinery. There isn't much to "polish".

Most of the chrome queens take less care than you might think. Jerry_Haughton rides the crap outta his, and it looks clean most of the time.
