Sean,

The effect that you are having on BadWeB's 1125R Board is almost entirely negative, breading enmity and ill-will. If you don't have something constructive or helpful to add to a thread please avoid posting to it. Exploiting 1125R threads in order to repeat your nagging, naysaying, and bitching is not constructive. So please step away. You don't own an 1125R; you don't like the 1125R, so it's best for you to avoid that board. If you continue polluting otherwise positive threads with your unhelpful commentaries, we'll have to take action to prevent it. You've made yourself into a pariah there, so please just step away. I speak truth.

Blake

Actually Blake, that you don't see my comments as valid, or on topic for that matter, is just a matter of opinion. I happen to think otherwise. Not once have I seen you support anything I've said. Yet for an engineer I find it hard to believe that you would spend so much time supporting, for example, the aerodynamic benefits of the 1125 when clearly the design around the frontal area and scoops is a compromise over the entire XB type package for a number of reasons not entirely based around the platforms engineering. That I raise such comments in a 1125 'full fairing' thread, or a 1125 'streetfighter' thread seems to me like the most appropriate place to do so. Why you see your role as 'keeper of the Buell grail' is beyond me. Is it entirely possible, just like Ducati have in the past, Buell too could build a shit bike? Is that possible in your eyes, or would you just rather a Buell public be blinkered if such were the case? Do you actually see anything Buell does as possibly wrong?

Everything with you is clear cut pro Buell. Even if you don't find the 1125 looks agreeable, there you are bashing away from your pulpit, excusing why it has to look the way it does. And you seem happy to do so till the cows come home, yet you're unwilling at any level to argue such, or any for that matter, debate otherwise. This despite your proclamations that you don't object to constructive criticism on BadWeB. Yeah, you don't support personal attacks either, yet just this morning you called me a jerk. Are you familiar with religion? Yes you are. How contradictory is it that you can spout your religion yet mine is 'blathering' and 'poo'?

In any case, I think this post of mine, which is one of two this AM that seems to have rattled you into placing one of those 'agree' 'disagree' blinders on me, is better served here.

Oh heck. Look peeps, I got caught up in the 1125 'I don't like the looks' thing. That I got deeper in than maybe I would have liked, is not entirely my own fault. When the guys that sit in the ivory tower start throwing crap my way because I happen to agree with those not liking the 1125, such just baits me. One thing besides me that remains a constant on this board is Buell's (as an individual and as a whole) unwillingness to ever accept anything is a compromise. Not that it's a big deal, but why not say so, or why not admit it? Instead we are force fed this crap that Buells way is holier than thou. The Helmholtz air box on the S1's. Didn't matter it was the ugliest thing ever. In Buells eyes it was not a compromise, but a thing of uncharacteristic beauty that brought about performance previously not experienced from a Sportster motor. Just the other day we're lead to believe the 1125 is the most aerodynamic naked bike ever produced, and Buell could have done better still had they have wanted. It's a freaking design compromise, which I wholeheartedly embrace and understand. The fact that Buell can't admit such just smacks to me of lies and customer betrayal. That makes me look harder as to why Buell would defend such a ponderous looking contraption in the name of engineering and aerodynamic marvel. Are they really that embarrassed by it? If so, it says to me, this is the best we can achieve to hit production targets based on the available funds we have. Therefore everything's a cop out. We have seen this run through Buells veins ever since Harley took control. The whole race thing is a piss poor effort when compared to smaller European companies who are experiencing great success where Buell should be, are we to believe what we are told about Buells passion for racing. One French national title for Buells race bike is a mere pimple on the racing world calendar. So will be the same where sales of the 1125 are next to all the other great naked bikes on offer today. A mere pimple. Why is that? Why would anyone put so much into being a pimple on someones arse? There really could be, and should be, so much more from Buell. Instead we get the ugliest bike of all time, the Blast, which was so ugly Buell dared not export it. The race bike might have been a success if it were at least ten years earlier, but where was it ever meant to race? Does anyone really know? I sure as hell don't. As such, I refuse to take it seriously. It's a museum piece the minute it rolled off the line.

Maybe, just maybe, I hit a raw nerve in the ivory tower, and that's why I get so much shit despite not being alone in my opinions towards the models Buell bring to market.

What's the overriding factor here?

You know what Blake, maybe it's time you deleted my account entirely. I can't be myself without stepping on some peoples toes. Even for the slightest things I say that sit at ills with Buell, which I'm not necessarily the first and therefore not alone in saying, I'm the one who gets the personal attacks, even from the 'man' (I use the term loosely) himself. Not that I mind. I've very broad shoulders. But this place is in danger of becoming an institution. Do like I do and look at how many 'long timers' still post here frequently, if at all. Ask yourself why some of the more 'senior' ex BadWeBers are on Sacborg? And no I'm not talking about THAT other stuff or relative to it. I'm talking about how you run this place sometimes too fiercely pro Buell it has many over the years leaving. But hey, don't just blame yourself. The products Buell are turning out these days are a far cry from those wonderful exotics they once did. Today's offerings are not anywhere near exotic, despite some of Buells quirky engineering delights. I fear I maybe out of time.

for those who never think that Rocketman never has any good ideas, read this quote from him:

"You know what Blake, maybe it's time you deleted my account entirely"

that has to be one of the best ideas I've ever heard him come up with!

And you total 296 posts on BadWeB count for what? Some contribution you've got going there Don.

Last time I looked this still was a Buell forum, and one where Buell peak themselves. What better place for disgruntled, as well as satisfied Buell owners to post their comments. Be they 10 days or 10 years disgruntled, or satisfied.

You know what Blake, that little 'poo' sub topic thing does you no credit.

Here you are on your own board giving me a hard time, yet there you are on Sacborg, no different from me, stirring up a Hornets nest with Dan, Aaron and Pete, allegedly over the Team Elves thing. What's good for the goose eh?

If you don't like the way I manage BadWeB, you're free to avoid the place.

If you don't like the way Chop runs SacBORG, you are free to complain to him about it.

I disagree with your indignant derisive ranting, so you label me a Buell sycophant? Again, you turn the issue into a personal one and rather than some well-needed introspection, you lash out at others.

I've been plenty critical of Buell motorcycles concerning numerous issues. Criticism is entirely different from insult, antagonism, and derision. You don't seem to understand the difference. Therein lies the problem.

Stick to the issues/topics.

Avoid personal commentary.

If you cannot do so as you have agreed, then please have the integrity to simply avoid visiting this place. Folks who are irritated by Buell enthusiasts discussing Buell motorcycles enthusiastically definitely should not be participating here.

Personally I'm hoping you can step up to the challenge and honor your commitments. Starting the parent thread to this poo was a great start. I obviously had not seen it prior to asking you privately to avoid further enmity in 1125R Board threads.

And from Wikipedia:

A sycophant (Gr. συκοφάντης) is a servile person who, acting in their own self interest, attempts to win favor by flattering one or more influential people, with an undertone that this is at the cost of their own personal pride, principles, and peer respect.

In ancient Greece the word was the counterpart of the Roman "delator": a public informer.

According to ancient authorities, the word (derived by them from συκο suko, "fig", and φανης fanēs, "to show") meant one who informed against another for exporting figs (which was forbidden by law) or for stealing the fruit of the sacred fig-trees, whether in time of famine or on any other occasion (Plutarch, Life of Solon, 24, 2.). The Oxford English Dictionary, however, states that this explanation, though common, "cannot be substantiated", and suggests that it may refer instead to the insulting gesture of "making a fig" or to an obscene alternate meaning for "fig", namely sykon which means .[1]

Another old explanation was that fines and taxes were at one time paid in figs, wine and oil, and those who collected such payments in kind were often called sycophants because they publicly handed them in.[citation needed]

The 1125R is an IMMPRESSIV bike, a great milestone in technology and a step into the super sport arena for Buell. I have ridden it, flogged it around the track. I confirmed what I already knew, I dont ride crotch rockets anymore, they are not comfortable for me. Does that mean that I wont sell the hell out of them because I personally wont ride the bike? NOPE. I think it is a great conversion bike for current riders of other brands and a bike that will bring people to Buell on a first look, people putting Buell on their list of bikes to "MUST" see and ride. Its great. I wont own one. It is physically uncomfortable for me. The same with the ULY. I am too F'n short for that bike to ride it comfortably for myself. I got around that one. I am now waiting for the Dirty 450cc SM/DS to come off the shelves (or out of the scrap bin dumpster) Come on Buell, the guys in Korea are doing it, I KNOW that E Troy could beat the quality, power, performance and keep a good price point for it. We now return you to your previous rant brought to you by the letter R and the number 1125. Spirited debate has led to many innovations, it is never the status quo that breeds invention. Guys, guys, guys. You seem like wordsmiths, speaking eloquently I admit, both with views that seem valid. My question is, how's the arodynamics, drag coeficent? things of that nature. My opinion.... yea it will take some getting used to ! Well so did the Dodge truck when they came out with the big grill, or the Ferrari Marenello, kind of a less than charming design, yet able to do 202mph. Or the new Kow 14, looks awary to me too! We are paying attention to both of you....... After the early Buell dustbin looking bikes were less than pleasing, my opinion only, I really dont want to see either of you quit the forum. and I know that I am walking on eggeshells but so be it. Keep in mind the world's a stage, and you are on it for all to view, myself and the enormous rest of us, who dont want to open a can of worms. To both of you I say BRAVO, yet out of this will likely come a better platform for the Buell design. Rich ps. that SACBORG forum is total crap, CRAP!!
