I'd been in the market for a second bike for several months, something I could use more for local rides and the odd commute to work. Anyway, keep a long story short, of the bikes on the short list, the deciding factor came down the visceral 'feel' of the machine, and of course the wife's full support

Whaddyathink?

In 26+ years of continuous motorcycle ownership, this is my first ever Harley-Davidson experience. I feel like this is somewhat of a milestone - a turning point perhaps.

Nevertheless, I'm keen to see what happens.

Cheers,
-Jack

jack,
congratulations. i hope it is as reliable as my 2000 road king(most reliable bike i ever had and still have). gas, oil, tires and brakes only in 42000 miles. slap a removeable back rest on for the SO and it's all good. you will have to back off the pace a tad from the Buell, but it is still great fun to push a heavy, rubber mounted bike through the available twisties.

apparently the market is flooded with used bikes since HD came up with the 96" & 6-spds as of late. my neighbor has an `05 road king and he went to trade it in they would only give like $7k on trade in and it just barely had over 2k miles.

aside from that its very ominous looking, almost. I like the black lower fork legs & bar risers alot.

That's the exact bike I would get if I were to get a cruiser right now.

That model, that color, and those mid controls.

Good Choice! I'm very interested in hearing you opinion once you get some miles on it.

Eric,
We still have both the Buells, so I guess that means we're still part of the group.

How about if I turn up to the meetings on the FAT BOB wearing a Buell t-shirt

Cheers,
-Jack
