I'm just trying to plan out next years tire usage and want to have a couple of sets on reserve in the basement for when I need them, or even when somebody else may need them and running into money troubles. Is there any particular time of year that yall have noticed tire sales in the past? Any substantial savings over peak riding season?

Never really paid any attention to new tyre releases/old stock sale off. But I am interested to find out the results of your question.

february is the traditional time. shop is still slow from winter blues and riding season hasnt hit yet. And that is only from the dealer, not from the manufacturer, not aware of any manufacturer reduction dates. But if you are buyin car tires its also Free Beef month at Les Schwab ;)

The prices at http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/ seem to be pretty good. I should have reached for the AMX when the Corsa III rears were 122.00.

Vortec57,

Thank you for your participation here. Are you willing to provide special discounts to BadWebbers? I know that we, and me particularly, can drive a heavy volume. We currently don't have a tire specific sponsor and would really like one.

I would ask, though, that solicitations for sales be made after you become a BW sponsor. We have had problems with folks hawking everything under the sun. As a result, we limit product offerings to only those individuals who have taken the time to be vetted. It prevents quite a bit of internet fraud.

If you aren't interested in becoming a sponsor, please refrain from posting sales solicitations. We aren't targeting you, but we have to have a firm policy for everyone with no exceptions.

Thanks.

I'd say keep checking in here. Last spring somebody posted a thread to an online dealer who was having a sale. I thought we paid about 170.00+10.00 shipping for a set of Pirelli's.

Tires always go on sale the day after you buy your new set.

I'll keep my eye on Cycle Gear that from what I understand had the Pirellis for 170 last year, Xbullet participated in that sale but he thinks it was only good for one day. I'll keep yall posted if I find anything.

Keep in mind that Cycle Gear's deals are usually good online as well as in the store.

Cycle Gear had Pirelli Corsas for $160 a pair this past May for a couple of weeks, online or in store.

Lots of people like Ron Ayres Motorsports. They have good prices, but the clincher is $10 shipping.

Stored tires do lose volatiles (dry out) and need to be protected from oxygen (they will oxidize) and light.
Store them in a thick, black garbage bag. Use your vacuum cleaner to suck the air out and seal the bag. Store in a cool dry place.....
