When I was young I had a 440 snowmobile engine in a go kart, dad would never let me ride it though. |

That's a waste of a good R1 engine. Here's the proof! This is a go-kart Rocket |

Hmmm...I have a good 600cc Honda engine that would work on a shifter cart...but I think that even it would be too much power. Most shifter carts have like single cyl. 175 cc engines in them. A 100 hp engine in a cart would be a hoot though. |

That reminds me of Jeff Johnson's (CCS National Champion in LightWeight Formula 40 racing for Hoban Brothers Racing on an XB this year and last year) Honda 4 cyl./450cc John Deere lawnmower that he brought to a BattleTrax event we hosted in Waterloo, IA. a few years ago. That thing was silly fast to begin with and with him at the wheel, Whoa!! BTW, it didn't have a mower blade or deck on it, hard to mow a yard with trenches from burnouts and donuts!! |

When I was a kid, one of my friends and his dad had built a cart. They used an old honda CB350 motor and trans... It had a disc brake on the rear axle and 2 discs up front. The shifter was a bar, bent from flat stock, that would cut into your hand... but what's funny is that you never noticed it while you were on the cart |

My all time fav cart power is pre shifter; A pair of McCullogh 101D engines powering thru a live axle. One of the shop classes in school was a two year deal. One of the projects was building a cart. A buddy built one with a old 175 Honda thumper(think poor mans Odyssey). I built one using a the afore mentioned pair. It turned out to quite the straight line neck snapper. |

Being so low to the ground like that...would have to be a rush- atleast you don't have as far to bounce. Wouldn't even think about it w/o a full set of leathers. |

Hey...I'll sell you that Gixxer motor. It needs 3rd gear fixed, but otherwise runs like a scalded ape. |
