Amid all the back & forth banter, talk of 1125r's, and bar-stool racing that winter brings us to, soon many here will be addressing Christmas and/or holiday cards to business associates, customers, family, friends and such.

Why not take a small amount of more time to address a couple extra ones. Fill out a few lines of how well your life is going, how much you appreciate living in this country, and that you hope and/or pray for peace one day the world over. In the mean time, thank the recipient for their efforts that allow you the benefit of writing this freely and without threat from terror on our shores and that you hope they too will be surrounded soon at their home by family and loved ones.

Address it to
A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Ave, NW
Washington, DC 20307-5001

Hats off to that.

Thanks for the info, will do! I have a stack of those blank cards with a picture on the outside and they run nicely through the laser printer.

It's a great sentiment, but unfortunately they're no longer allowing these to be delivered. (safety reasons and all...)

If you want to do something really nice for the guys in uniform, contact the FRG for any local unit that has been deployed. They can give you a direct address to send things to guys in the field. When I was over there, a group of local people sent me a bunch of phone cards from the AAFES website. The Wigwam sock company sent us a HUGE box of boot socks too. As long as you have a specific soldier or Marine's name on the envelope, you can send anything (legal)you want.

That, and if you send it directly to an individual, you don't have your gifts sorted through by officers, pogues and fobbits before the guys out in the field can come in and get them.

We also got lots of cards from school kids. That was nice because it reminded all of us over there that we hadn't been forgotten about.
