We'll have to have two copies for this house. We have a hard enough time sharing BadWeB time!

That cover bike sure looks familiar. Was that pic taken on a certain ride to Vegas?

I shot that cover out at Erik's farm. That is the sun setting over the neighbors cornfield. I used fill-in-flash to balance the foreground with the background. The photo was used on what I think is the last brochure Buell Motor Company ever produced for bikes.

I am planning on being available to sing and probably sell books at Homecoming. I suspect Court is also.

Of course we have to get the darn thing finished before we can do that.

Yes. . . Dave can sing and I'd be happy to accompany him on guitar.

Look . . . if I have to sing . . we introduce new "issues".

Tits! Court sent three pages of draft with some T-shirts, can't wait. Major teaser.
Don't read a lot of paper these days, last book I read was an insider's history of Apple.
One more thing to look forward to at Homecoming.

>>>Major teaser.

Actually . . . there were stacks of wadded up attempts in pursuit of an effort to describe some of the changes that took place as Buell made, essentially overnight, the leap from "barn to factory". Imagine pulling your Rupp off pit road into the midst of the Indy 500.

Anyway . . those pics, courtesy of 1313, didn't make the cut, at least not all of them. They detailed how some of the testing was conducted to prove the integrity of the Buell fuel tank to folks who'd never seen a fuel tank that wasn't metal.

One funny part that also ended up on the floor was the reactions of folks when they heard "we're going to use Marty's Mazda to do the crash testing".

It was an amazing time in an amazing company . . . not unlike 2008.

The actual word "tits" only appeared in one place and I'm thinking washed up on the shores of "almost made it" as well . . .

Should be some fun stuff.

And if Dave sings . . . it'll have been worth every moment!

Try taking thousands of pictures, hundreds of stories and choosing like 4% of them?

: )

Was it anything to do with motorcycle.com and an escaped bunny?

Web server configuration security... it matters : )

It would be an interesting addition (and I'm sure an order of magnitude of additional work) to include a DVD inside the back cover with additional photos, interviews, screen shots of the original Buell web page, and other assorted and sundry of stuff. You could even include random coupons inside various copies of the books redemable (sp?) for mystery bags of assorted archival items from the Buell Basement in Staton Island.

ps, I think the book should be subtitled:
"Remind me to tell you sometime"

The parting shot on the final page should be:
"... and I can prove it" captioned below a pic of an M2 riding off into the sunset.

And somewhere I hope there is a chapter on music and the seemingly endless expanse of the wide range of interests and backgrounds of Buell owners and how they seemingly magically knit together almost perfectly.

This is a great thing. I can't wait for publication. I have always felt I was apart of Buell since I purchased my 97 S1 even though I never worked for Buell. For a company to make its riders feel like that is something we do not see everyday. It is very special and we are all part of it.

Buell - 'Remind Me To Tell You Sometime' sounds bang on to me.

Kind of ironic seeing as we seldom are (told), and the book no doubt will.

The book title will actually be decided by the publisher with input from us. The idea is to appeal to as broad an audience as possible so this will be reflected in the title.

I think you all are going to enjoy it. Lots of neat pictures and quite a good story. Much has been left out- not enough space or time to tell every story and make every point-but plenty of good stories non the less including a couple that are gonna knock your socks off.

Jeez Dave, the way Court has it, I would have thought there would have been at least three!
