uhh...They're the ONLY dealer in S.E. New England.
Congrats on the ONLY answer in this entire thread!
YOU WIN!

So consider the following:
Only more questions, without any answers.
Banter would follow a fact or two.

My question is why the big secret?
What's to hide.
Does the dealer that sells the most rub corp the wrong way?
Does corp think publishing a number one dealership to be counter productive?
If so why the Pegasus trophy?
If the Pegasus trophy is so useless, why continue a useless award system?
I could go on...

The only numbers I am concerned with is; Who is the number 1 Buell sales Customer in the United States. I have asked the question OVER 5 times and twice I got some moronic basketball player analogy and an answer about Pegasus winners which I couldn't care any less about anymore, and the same question of well what is the criteria. THE CRITERIA IS SALES.

WHO ARE THE NUMBER 1-10 BUELL SALES IN THE COUNTRY.

I don't care how much money was made by each, I don't care if they sold 1 Buell to 100 Harleys. This question is an easy question. T=It isn't loaded in any way AT ALL. I am pretty sure I have asked nicely before now.

I am amazed, all this talk about Pegasus award winners, and Hals hasn't been mentioned. They've got more Pegasus awards than anyone in the world.... 10.

WHO ARE THE NUMBER 1-10 BUELL SALES IN THE COUNTRY.
I wish you luck in your quest.
I've looked into this (understand while my resources are dependable, they are limited) and I keep hitting a wall.
I didn't think (as you didn't either) I was asking much.

Who is the biggest ball player?
Not caring if said ball player is any good, who is the biggest.

Strange how this thread would have died long ago with a simple answer to a seemingly simple question.

My #1 is Stone Mountain H-D and Buell, they have a lowly 3 Pegasus trophies

I am going to take a guess here.

The dealers are not part of Harley Davidson.

They are independent businesses, that have a contractual franchise agreement with the Motor Company.

As such, they are probably disinclined to make public the financial results of their private businesses, like any other business.

The Motor Company, on the other hand, is a publicly traded company that issues an annual report that does show the results of the Buell division, which sells about 10,000 motor cycles a year, when last I looked, and they are broken down by models.

Harley sells around 330,000 units per year. Their Motorclothes sales are rather larger than total Buell sales if I recall correctly.

I'm actually kind of used to it.

If information doesn't help the people who have it, the people who have it will jump every direction so as not to give the info out.
Kinda stupid if you ask me.

every new h-d and buell sold gets registered with "corporate" in order to get its warranty period recorded properly.

Another difficult answer to find is how many of a certain model have been sold.
The best you can get there, are how many Buells have been delivered, plus or minus the Blast.
I understand why Buell feels they shouldn't talk of future plans (understanding is not the same as agreeing), but I can't figure out why they'd want to keep who sells the most a secret. Regardless of how well that particular dealership deals otherwise.
Seems to me it would only make a true team player try harder.
We all know that "Buells don't sell well here" isn't even an excuse...

It's a bit of a question with no answer . . .

I'd not touch the questions because I've neither the time nor inclination to spend the holiday season defending the responses.

That condescending enough for you?

I have worked at Harley Davidson/Buell of Fort Myers for the past 2 1/2 yrs. They have Pegasus awards for the years 2005 & 2006. '05 was before my time, but we were #8 in Buell sales in '06 with 67 new units sold. My understanding is it is awarded to the top 10 dealers in sales each year. I saw the list back in January & if memory serves (& it doesn't always) the #1 dealer was in San Diego.

Yeah, whatever you say Canfield. Like I said, if a Dealership was number 1 because you were the CEO of the dealership, you'd post it. Since it doesn't put you on a pedestal, it isn't worth your time to post it.

I guess I don't understand the value of the award if the info is not made public. It seems to me the dealers that receive the award would very much support that information being in the public domain.

Court, "defending the response", wouldn't be necessary, you're simply passing on the list and the criteria. If not now perhaps after the holidays... if you won't share the list with us at least give us the courtesy of telling us why.

Pretty uncalled for on your part Joe. I think Courts answer is pretty descent. You just didn't want to hear it that way.Who cares who's the best. If you lived in the Arkansas would you bring your bike to New York for warranty work. I have descent dealers right here so thats all I need.Sheesh!!!}

Who cares who's best?

The reason I ask is I would like to know who the number 1-10 of the highest Buell sales. I don't care if said 1-10 takes the buyer's new bike and immediately throws the new bike into the shredder, never pays the buyer back for it, then takes a poop on their car. I'll make a mock list.

1. Joe Bob's Buell H-D (100 Buells sold
2. Honest Abe's H-D Buell (90 Buells sold)
3. Dishonest Ed's HD/Buell (80 Buells sold)

Get the gist? i don't care if the number 10 Dealer walked 500 little old ladies across the street, it isn't the criteria, it's strictly sales by the number of Buells

And Dana, I drove to Wisconsin to buy a Buell from DaveS when there was a perfectly EXCELLENT dealer within an hour from me because he was one of my sponsors on ATC.

I wholeheartedly apologize to Court for my harsh words.

Awesome Joe,but I know even if Dave was still there you wouldn't bring it there and keep going there if you had issues.... I wouldn't either. I'd go to my closest dealer I felt comfortable with. I also bought bikes from Dave. Why??? he's a friend and a great person. My first one was when he was still in Waterloo. The next was when he was in Appleton. I still had Racine HD,Ukes and Hal's a stone throw away.

Joe:

I accept your apology.

Back to the spirited conversation.

The problem . . . someone try to define "best".

What if . . using the above example, Joe Bob did in fact sell 100 Buells.

But . . . (here's where the fun starts) in doing so he violated some agreements, bought a ton of Buells for illegal resale to a wealthy Bosnian. He never bought one part, sent one tech to school, bought a shirt or gave a sling bag and steps on the the podium while Dave Stueve is sitting in his chair pushing the cold Holiday Inn chicken ala king around the plate.

Buell releases the "#1" info and unsuspecting customers, equating more with better, folks to a dealership that doesn't know squat about Buells because they saw an exec handing this guy a trophy.

Those facts are made up . . but you get the gist.

There are a number of measures, some more objective, some less, that get taken into account.

But, I suspect the good folks at Buell realize this, the award is more for a dealer audience.

Frankly, I PERSONALLY think there is a better (not necessarily better. . . but perhaps another ranking that addresses the needs of Buell owners and buyers) way of doing it. I don't think Buell is quite ready for it yet. . . . but when they are I've got it written up, bound and ready to go.

: )

(Never talk about a problem unless you have a solution)

In the interim you really can't do much better than dealing with Badweb sponsors. I ever think there are some things that can be done to even make them more attractive but for now there are few more public declarations that can be read as "we want to earn your business".

So that dealer would be the one that sold the most Buells? I can live with that, because all I want are the numbers (1-10) for this query.

Sorry Dave! The Bosnians beat you out of it.
