Pretty nice looking, clean. Interesting ergos. I'd like to ride it. The pipe are a little scary for me.

I like it. The lines look very good.

I love it when they are able to tuck all the cables and lines away where the engine, frame, wheels, etc. all become very simple elements.

I like how clean it is.
Simple looking.
Not sure how I'd fit on it though.

This is gonna sound blasphemous, but thats the bike that made me fall in love with the Monster. I know it doesnt have the attributes that Ducati meant it to have, but its just too bad a$$ to discount IMHO. I actually like it better than the factory monster. Id never chop my Buell, but I'd definately defile a Monster for a ride like that!

Thanks for posting those pics, guys.
BEE-UTIFUL!!!

That's a slick bike rocket, except for the forward controls, but hey, it's original.

I have to say that I like the chopped Monster here. It still has the essence of a Monster. A better job at retaining that essence than I have seen on any of the Buell chop jobs.

I still find it funny that people chop fully functional bikes for art. A friend of mine has a totally done V-rod with a single sided swing arm and MV Agusta tail section bla bla bla but the ergonomics are so shot you can barely ride it. Your knees practically touch your biceps.

The street rod was the best H-D since the XR1000. Of course both models failed to fit into
the traditional Harley mold so they sold poorly (un-motivated salesmen? we know that can happen)

The XR-1000 suffered from several other problems . . . what a shame. It was one of my favorite HDs.

To this day, the Pontiac GTO 389ci with the 3 deuces and the XR are the definition of what a great motor sounds like when opened up.

Still is mine Court. Not sure if this is a good or a bad thing for you, lol, but you can blame or thank the XR 1000 for leading me into the S1W

I expect the XR1000 gets a sizable mention in the definitive Buell tome?

the other Ducati Monster is entirely handmade as well with no Monster parts other than the engine and maybe the wheels.
The one you posted Rocket hides the engine too much and the frame is too much spaghetti - none of the curves seem to line up with any other curves. Look at the bottom line of the gas tank and the top frame rail??
Don't get me wrong, I'd ride it but prefer the 1st bike....

Well, it's not my place to defend it Scott, but it still looks to me like a great motorcycle, which leads me to a problem I have with custom builds.

That Monster above, like so many of its contemporaries of similar ilk, seem to me to be that shape or style for the sake of trying to be different - rather than ride-able. Yes it looks good, but it also looks ridiculous and offers only one statement from a riders perspective. Which is 'look at me I'm bad'. Frankly it's a bit of a tit mobile for me.

I cannot say which one rides/handles better Rocket - just pointing out that they took equal skill to build in my estimation. Not picking on the bike - just your taste! I'd rather ride your V-8 bike than that Ducati custom you posted! ;)
Do bikes with fat front and rear tires handle better than normal size tires with some rake? I don"t know......
I have a great handling bike already, if I were to add this kind of bike to the stable it would be for my wednesday night ride to the beach for 2 slices of pizza and a coke for $6 and would prefer the 1st one for this duty that is all I'm saying....

Absolutely Scott, I understand where you're coming from with the pizza and coke, except our Wednesday night is a trek inland to Squires Coffee Bar, well, for frothy coffee and maybe a pastie.

Having seen the T Bob up close and personal, I'd opinion it would handle pretty good. If I were to guess an opinion as to how the Monster lowboy thing rides from looking at the above pic, I'd put my money on the T Bob. Especially at higher speed on twisty roads. As for my V8 bike. Trust me, it doesn't handle, lol!

Now about build. There's no way for me the Monster custom displays anywhere near as much skill to build as the T Bob does. I can't emphasise enough how much of the T Bob is truly hewn from blunt pieces of metals by one mans hands. Every single piece of that custom is made by its designer and creator. Not to take anything away from the achievements of the Monster customs creator, but it does not begin to come close to the T Bob.

I like that Monster better than the original. It's so clean it almost looks like a toy! Not crazy about the flat black paint, though.

To this day, the Pontiac GTO 389ci with the 3 deuces and the XR are the definition of what a great motor sounds like when opened up.

The most magnificent sound I've ever heard is the sound of 18 XR-750s coming off turn four at the Springfield Mile. It makes the hairs on my forearms and the back of my neck stand straight up. (the racing ain't too shabby, either)

The others are very nice, but are actually customs (but you already knew that).....
