Just found this at http://thekneeslider.com:

http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2007/11/05/2008- ducati-monster-696/#more-1631

It's the new "little" Ducati Monster, now a 696. It looks pretty cool; a decent update on a cool bike. This one sentence really caught my eye:

"It also sports easily removable panels on either side of the tank to quickly change colors."

Looks like another Buell innovation is catching on...

It looks like an old Monster with a squished front and tail.

I kinda like it, but I think I perfer the old style.

I looked at one before I got my Buell. The cost of valve adjustments is one thing that stopped me along with a 120 mile trip one to the dealer. Sexy bikes but...I don't know the Buell seems more like a true monster on the road paved OR dirt

To what I understand the valve adjustments can be done on your own if you can wrench a bit. They aren't difficult to my understanding. What stopped me from a Duc is the cost of replacement parts...... Can You Say EXTREME ?????

"The cost of valve adjustments is one thing that stopped me..."

For a guy like me, that would be a good thing.

"Hey,look at how much money I'm saving by staying in the garage all day!"

I could pay for the bike with the money I saved... eventually.

Those Monsters always looked to me like some really fat guy sat on it and broke it in the middle. The lines are all funky.

Looks good, although it looks a lot more like the new speed triple now, especially the pipe.

i like it, but the cans are ridiculous. here's what i would do.. . slimmed and tucked the cans, axed the mirrors, eliminated the fender, smaller smoked signals and rim stripes. sexxxy

if i had more time i'd ditch those awful peg brackets too.
