Ok, what the heck. Is it a bike? Is it a car? Is it a moped?

The sound has squealing tires through every turn, but it sounds like a tiny motor.

Also when it sounds like he's wound it out, he's not passing cars very fast at all.

This one has been discussed before.
If I remember correctly, the sound was dubbed in.
That is a very healthy V8 builders class sports car motor. If he was wringing it's neck like it sounds, he'd be doing 150 plus.
Go back and listen to the gear changes, in some parts you can hear the overdub.
Good job though and damn fine driving any way you look at it (or listen).
