As my daily ebay search for Buell stuff ensues, I found this :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HD-HARLEY-BUELL-NEW -AREO-CHARGER-COMPLETE-TURBO-SYSTEM_W0QQcmdZViewIt emQQcategoryZ35557QQihZ006QQitemZ160170848999QQrdZ 1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Pretty pricey, but neat nonetheless and I'm not for sure if it is even usable on a Buell, but probably is!

Just to let you know, the quality of the aerocharger kits is junk. We've installed a couple. They make good power (130 rwhp on an EVO with headwork), but the quality of build is marginal.

Jeez, Josh -
My Aerocharger has been on my bike for about 10 years, and NO "quality of build" problems yet.

What problems have you run into with them?

My unit is from the early days at First Choice in NY - the guy that built the bike I have helped with the prototypes, testing, etc.

The guys selling the kit on ebay need to get a little more detailed with their description - the pipes are VERY model-specific and are not interchangable between the various tube frame bikes.

For you guys that 'gotta have a turbo' I may have mine for sale in a few months - I've been trying to sell my RS for a while now, and I have decided to part it out if it doesn't go (intact) to a buyer soon.

Way too much money, bought my first kit used but complete for 1700,sold it with better stuff for 1500. Just sold about 1/2 of a kit with bigger Aerocharger to Wayne for 800.00. Seen similar go for about 1/2 what they are asking.

Leftcoastal,

I'm glad you had a good experience with the kit. The two I had experience with, had oil seal problems with the turbo only running 6psi. The install leaves everything seen, including all of the black rubber lines. On one of them the manifold cracked.

On the flip side, the DO make power. Power that would cost a lot more to develop without forced induction.

The hobby that takes most of my time is tinkering with and driving Rx7's. They demand high quality parts to withstand the heat of rotary engines. I have first hand experience of what cutting corners does when building a turbo setup. It sucks to find those failures when driving or riding.

Using stainless hose and AN fittings for connections would make the kit look a lot nicer and prevent potential melting issues with the hoses. The supplied worm gears are sub-par. You should used t-bolt clamps wherever possible to prevent the clamps from cutting into the rubber or blowing off all together.

The are just observations of mine. We can disagree and I'm fine with that. I do not intend to insult; I intend to warn onlookers of potential problems down the road.

We've recently done some turbo development at the shop turboing a FXST and a VROD. We've spent a lot of time doing testing and work engineering a long lasting solution. Hopefully we can get a kit developed for Buells before too long as well.

It's awesome that the kit was developed and was the turbo option when introduced. There are just better options for people now (not just from us; Trask has been selling kits successfully for some time, the 2.0 Aerochargers are nicer too).

Now that I think of it - It's probable that the unit on my bike was not necessarily one of the kits offered - it was more likely a precurser to the kits.
I agree about the worm gear clamps - they are just a bit cheesey and if you're gonna get all that spendy for a box of stuff, you'd think they could upgrade some of the peripherals.

I think I recall seeing that unit that is on ebay sitting in the display case at Bartel's H-D a few years ago - it looks like the S2 header. The company auctioning it - 'Hog-Ties' buys up take-offs and unsold items from all the local (and maybe not so local) Dealerships and sells the parts at swap meets, ebay and their shop. I see them at the Long Beach Swap Meet whenever I go.

Like Jim said - too much dough, especially for something without any manufacturer back-up, as the company that made it is gone.
