During the cold weather I wear some thermax underwear but am looking for some warm weather full underwear, tops and bottoms, separate pieces, preferred, to wear under full leathers. What are some of you guys wearing?

I use the Wal-mart version of Under Armour. It costs $10 a piece top and bottoms, and seems to work quite well. I just couldn't justify spending the $30-$40 a piece for the real deal!

Hot Chillys. Seriously good insulation but if your leathers are ventilated, you still need a cheap windbreaker.

Sold out here by Sport Chalet

2nd the Under Armor cold gear, but you can do very well for less by using fleece long underwear and a Gore Windstop fleece shell under your jacket.

Gander Mountain has alot of variety of their Guide Series long undies. about 1/2 of what you'd pay for UA.

+1 for the Under Armor Heat Gear, but I also use the cheaper versions that you can find a Target, Walmart or like store

Are you talking about riding in Utah in the Fall Bob? For that I have several pairs of cold weather bicycle tights (with out the pad) that are great under the jeans or leather.

It's not much help right now but if you wait for the clearance sale at the end of season (Springtime ish) and buy the windproof one's they're great, and more affordable. Front panel blocks wind and the brushed inside keeps a layer of air to insulate. I can wear them under trousers for training days (business casual) and nobody knows any different, and I stay warm riding the bike. They can cost around $80 during the regular season, so I really prefer to wait for the sales but you might find some for less if you hit the local bike shops.

For the summer heat I like the Walmart underarmor style shirts too, and wear a regular bicycle short for the track and non commuter riding (extended canyon rides). While a tank top or t-shirt is okay for most stuff there is some real performance in those slick "superhero" style underclothes.

I wear some under armor cold gear that I got for half price one the cold days. Pretty much any day under 65 since my suit is pretty well perforated. I have used it as low as 45 so far and have been happy.

+1 on the silk. I picked up a thin 2 piece set from Bass Pro sometime back. Works in the HOT weather and in the milder cooler stuff.

I don't mean to hi-jack the thread, but while we're discussion what to wear under leathers- anybody ever wear a cup under their leathers? My Alpinestars 2-pc doesn't offer much protection in that area, I'd hate for the boys to get hurt if I got tangled up with the bike in a crash.

Spike,

I don't believe it's necessary in that during a crash the "boys" suck up inside the body and hide. : D

As some have said, Under Armor Cold Gear. Thin and warm and manages the heat well so I don't start sweating in it if it's warmer than expected.

Thanks much for all the responses guys. Sounds like under armor might just be what I'm looking for. What part of the store is it sold in Walmart? Mens clothes, sporting goods, etc? Also found some nice stuff in Cabela's also, although $20 each tops and bottoms. Will look at Wallyworld today.

Okay, Ft_ that's just nasty. I read every post and by the bottom of the thread all I could see was the image of you, sitting in the hot sun, in your leathers, sweating like, well, like a Ft_Bstrd!

That's a visual I would have hoped to shake...but it won't go away!!!

Please make sure to burn your leathers when you are done with them!!!!
