We just got home from picking up Terri's new XB12Ss. We stayed on back roads with little traffic, so she could vary engine speeds. We also stopped a couple of times on the way to let the bike cool down and heat cycle.
At the first stop, I looked over at Terri and she was wearing "The Grin". When I asked her how she liked the bike she told me, "This bike was made just for me!" To say she's happy would be a big understatement. To say she looks good on it would also be a big understatement.
I just thought I'd share this with everybody here.

So the Guzzi is gone?

I'm glad that she likes the SS! I look forward to seeing it at homecoming. Congrats Terri!

Diablobrian; the Guzzi is not gone, it's resting quietly in the garage. The dealer offered us half of what the NADA blue book said was trade in value, so we're keeping it for now. If you know anyone who wants a good deal on a Breva 750 we're willing to talk.
Nevrenuf; don't worry. the Lightning is her baby. I probably won't ride it very much. About as much as she rides my Ulysses.
It's interesting to see the differences between the '08 motor next to the '06 motor in my Uly. I definitely think the '08 is a big improvement.
The Cherry Bomb Translucid is a pretty neat color.

since the insurance company is gonna total the bike, were already looking at the 08 scg vampire red that my daughters workplace has. this time i'll try and keep off it. my m2 should be ready by the time my shoulder heals up. i'm sure she'll have fun on the bike and most of all be careful.

Neil,

Was there frame damage? It didn't seem like there was that much damage.

Crusty - glad Terri is enjoying her new Buell. Post pics!

Neil - they totalled Carlos' Uly as well last March/April. With a few crucial parts replaced, the bike was back on the road with a few extra character marks.

Two small scratches on the frame, the dealership wrote up every tiny detail, total cost was 5,900.00. Alot of this was just cosmetic, doesn't appear to be any damage to the frame. When we talked to the insurance they are going to total since they don't want to take a chance of anything happening. They said we can buy the bike back?? The only time we've done anything like this is when our daughter gor hit on the original M2. We were able to get the bike back to part out. So any idea'a of what to do, we really haven't made a desicion as yet???

Ask the insurance Co. to settle at their absolute limit if you can affect repairs for that amount. That way you can keep a clear title. You "could" even replace the frame with your CURRENT VIN# if you wanted.

Or accept it as totalled and replace it.Though i think that would be your most costly option.

BTW..Congratulations Terri,Erik was very proud to make that sale.Keep it clean and well maintained John.

Crusty and Terri,

Congratulations! Go easy on the permagrin until she gets used to it. Wouldn't want to see her get a rash on her cheeks inside her helmet!
