It’s getting warm here in the Memphis area and I’m looking for ways to stay cool & safe. I just got a Fieldsheer Titanium Air jacket from www.Newenough.com. I really like it. Good fit, comfortable, cool, nice looking, CE class armor, all for less than $100, shipped. Now I’m looking to change out gloves. My leather ones are not very cool. I like the look of the Joe Rocket Phoenix glove. Has anyone tried these? Are they comfortable? They were rated well over on Epinions, but that was only by 3 users. Are there any other suggestions for hot weather gloves at a reasonable price? Than}ks in advance |

I have both the Buell Speed Zone gloves and a pair of the Joe Rocket Phoenix gloves. The Speed zones are slightly more comfy to me, but I definitely feel safer wearing the Phoenix gloves, with the knuckle and joint guards. They are quite comfortable and air flows through them really well, keeping your hands cool. I have one oh the Phoenix jackets to wear when it gets really warm as well. Bryan |

Dan, You should read through the following link before you buy your next pair of gloves: When it all goes wrong... The important part:
quote:My gear: Arai Signet Helmet Triumph Raptor Jacket and Joe Rocket Phoenix gloves. The helmet worked so well, I didn't even end up with a headache. The jacket is trashed, but with the execption of a dime sized peice of road rash on my left shoulder (which looks more like a hickey) no damage was done to me. The gloves...failed. The "synthetic leather" heated up and melted resulting in the back of my fingers getting torn to shit and the pinky finger getting "melted synthetic leather", gravel, and asphault ground into the bone. The gloves did prevent damage (other than bruising) to the knuckles.

HELD.best gloves out there imho. doesn't come in dorky color combos like the joe rocket crap, no faux cf knuckle decorations, just good leather with strategicly place padding. The feel on these gloves is excellent, and I have raced and commuted year round with the same pair for 3 years. |

I crashed @60mph wearing Buell's Vortex gloves (the "race" gloves from '99 with the steel rivets in the palms). Lost one stud and wore the chrome off the rest but my hands were fine. Put 2 holes in the outer layer of my 'Stitch (left knee and seat) but didn't touch the inner layer. Walked off without a scratch. (ok, limped off as I hyper-extended my foot when I came down on it). Still wear the gloves when I want good protection but think I might get rained on, but I normally wear Buell's "race" gloves with the carbon-fiber knuckles. Very comfortable. Incidentally,if anyone sees the Vortex or carbon-fiber Buell gloves in Med. please let me know.
