I've finally found an affordable set of full leathers...I'm excited to finally be able to ride in full gear, especially with the colder weather coming! I'm hoping that they fit, as it's a gamble, but I contacted the guy selling this bike : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ewItem&viewitem=&item=270168885990 And the Buy it Now person was a scammer so he said I could just buy the leathers from him. I'm right around a 34-35" waist, so I'm hoping to be able to squeeze into these! If I get these pucks: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ewItem&ih=005&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem =&item=150164746161&rd=1 Will I be able to attach them to my pants, and how does that work? I've had the bike since May and have put over 5,000 miles on it. Coming up on the 10,000 mile mark too! |

Those leathers don't have the velcro to put the pucks on. You can sew the velcro on, if you're handy. |

Ahh...Very well, I may have to do that! Thanks Glitch! BTW, did you see the FireBlast? LOL When I messaged the guy, I told him about BadWeb, and he had never even heard of it!! So, he may be putting the bike for sale here! |

Yeah, I saw it, too bad he didn't care to do the tail section, that would have been extra nice. What did you mean... And the Buy it Now person was a scammer so he said I could just buy the leathers from him.? |

The person who hit the "Buy it Now" option was from the Ukraine and the seller said that the guy in Ukraine was gonna try to scam him. |

Get to a good leather shop and get a patch of HEAVY velcro for them. It'll need to be sewn on the proper position on the knee - note it is on the SIDE of the knee, NOT the front! If you can have the work done by a racing leathers shop, that'll be much better. I'd bet you can have the velcro work done for a reasonable price - but remember they're going to have to remove and re-sew the liner so it's not going to be super cheap. Shoot some of the domestic leather shops a note - Syed, Vanson, Z Custom, Bates, see what they tell you it'll take. Can't just sew around the perimeter, they really need to be stitched onto the leather. |

Also be aware that those leathers do not have a full circumference waist zipper that I can see, so if you were planning to go to track days with them they may require that you install one. It probably has the 9inch zipper in the back. These would probably be closer to sport touring leathers than a racing suit. That isn't a bad thing on the street, in fact it means they'll probably be more comfortable than their racing cousins. People tend to avoid wearing uncomfortable leathers and the leathers at home don't help any if you have a wreck on the bike! Barnacle Bill's leathers does repairs and modifications for pretty reasonable prices, and they have a lot of experience doing that kind of work if you need to find a shop to make modifications. This time of year there shouldn't be too long of a wait. If you wait till december or later there can be serious back logs. http://www.racingleather.com/repairspg/repairs.html Nice score! Hey thanks all! Brian, did u know your in my profile pic? LOL Maybe it doesn't have full waist zipper....he said they do zip together, because I just wanted the pants, but he said he wouldn't cuz they zip at the waist? Knowing my dumbarse I would have put the pucks on the front...LOL Thanks! I wish there was a track around here! |

Wow, yeah I am....now you have something to scare the mice away! Waiting in line sucked, but being in the front was a lot more fun than being further back from what I heard! The 9 inch zipper on the back is a fairly universal way to connect the jackets and pants. even my first gear 2 piece has the 9 inch zipper in addition to the full circumference so that the pieces can be used with other gear. Your current jacket will probably attach to the pants if it has a zipper, assuming they aren't mounted in opposite directions (don't laugh, field sheer mounted theirs "backwards" until recently) |

I've got good news. Just paid for them, should be here next week early! But, the Leathers have the partial zipper in the rear. And..."Wait for it, this is going to be...Legen....I hope you like milk...Dairy," It's got a full waist zipper as well!!! (If anyone knows what that quote may be from, I give a kudos too!) |
